Review

"[TOP PICK!] Christopher takes a seemingly unredeemable rascal and transforms him into a hero readers will cheer for. Sometimes heart-wrenching, this story of redemption is masterfully done."
--Romantic Times BOOKreviews

From the Author

Ann Christopher is a full-time chauffeur for her two overscheduled children. She is also a wife, former lawyer, and decent cook.  In between trips to various sporting practices and games, Target, and the grocery store, she likes to write the occasional romance novel. She lives in Cincinnati and spends her time with her family, which includes two spoiled rescue cats, Sadie and Savannah, and two rescue hounds, Sheldon and Dexter. As always, Ann is hard at work on her next book, and hopes that--if you haven't already--you'll pick up the first three books in her Davies Legacy series, Sinful Seduction, Sinful Temptation and Sinful Attraction, which are still available.

If you'd like to recommend a great book, share a recipe for homemade cake of any kind, or have a tip for getting your children to do what you say the first time you say it, Ann would love to hear from you through her Web site, AnnChristopher.com.

It takes a talented author to so thoroughly and astoundingly redeem a man who had been seemingly so-oo utterly un-redeemable. Ann Christopher is just that skilled an author and she creates a read that is both heart-stopping and heart-rending. Watching Beau and Jillian work to put their marriage and family back together again will take readers through the ringer emotionally and leave them with a smile. It's hard to pick an Ann Christopher favorite because her novels just keep getting better and better. But REDEMPTION'S KISS surely earns its place on the keeper shelf. Kudos, Ann Christopher! This book is a must read.

Amazing story about a husband's betrayal and after a almost life ending accident realizes what is most important to him. Will his wife forgive him or will she too realize that some of her actions may have caused the end of their marriage. Great story and very emotional. Perfect title to this amazing story. Loved it!

Seriously, I don't know what happened here. I generally enjoy Ann's books, but this one... well... sucked. The premise is not new, but it is a tough one to pull off---a lying cheating self-centered "hero" survives a life threatening accident and has an epiphany about the need to change his life. So he goes off to reclaim his estranged ex-wife (whom he supposedly still loves, in spite of the first scene of the book being him having sex in a car with some other chick. I'll be honest, you just don't do that in the types of romance I choose to read). Long story short, I didn't buy his redemption. I didn't think he was portrayed as a reformed person who deserved a "3rd" chance. There was too much evidence of his continued selfishness. Also Jillian, the heroine, needed a smack to the side of the head for not listening to her brother. I spent much of the book wanting to shake her because she devoted most of her time thinking with her hormones instead of her head. I hated this book. If you must read it get it from the library. Don't pay for this.

I didn't like Beau and I never thought I would end up cheering for him. So, Ann Christopher decided to make me a liar with this novel. Once I picked it up, I couldn't put it down. What I loved most about this book was Jillian's character. She didn't come across as weak at all and that was an amazing feat by Ms. Christopher. When you take a flawed man and make him a HERO--you are the woman. Do yourself a favor and pick up this book.

Let me start by saying that it would help to read, "Campaign for Seduction" first. That's a big part of the background for Beau and Jillian's story. This was a very heart felt story about forgiveness and redemption. Beau and Jillian had it all, but then Beau's betrayal ruined it all--sort of. He fell from grace and had a come to Jesus that caused him to re-evaluate himself and decide what was most important. He eventually realized that forgiveness and redemption were what he needed. He had to forgive himself before he could offer forgiveness and move on.

Though there is NEVER a reason for a man (or woman) to cheat, Jillian was partially to blame for their marriage falling apart. Until she came to terms with what was really wrong, she could not move forward. She had some issues that she needed to admit to, to work through, herself; she still loved Beau and she need to face her real demons. It was so much easier for her to blame Beau for everything. The first step to recovery is admitting that you have a problem and with Beau's help, Jillian was finally able to move forward.

And Allegra... OMG what a ham! And Seinfeld. Just give Ann a child and a dog and her story automatically becomes a best seller. Allegra and Seinfeld were just the balance that the story needed to neutralize the anger, humiliation, hurt, and frustration. Who knew that there were so many ways to dress like a princess?

John & Liza... loved them. Though he's the president, they're so normal. And Jillian doesn't give John a break. She treats him just like the brother that he is. Liza keeps John grounded and puts him in his place, a first lady should. And he and Beau face off like two brothers who truly love each other but hit a very large speed bump somewhere along the way.

At the beginning of the book, I didn't think that I could like Beau, but I too forgave him, by the end. I don't know how Ann does it but she always manages a hit!! Loved it!!

This was my first Ann Christopher book and I have to say I enjoyed the author's voice. The story flowed well and it was easy to read - I enjoy a well-written book.

However, the actual storyline didn't really work for me. I'm a big believer in second chances, but third chances are kind of pushing it for me. We are all human and make mistakes, however, it's how we learn from these mistakes that determines the kind of people we are and whether forgiveness is something we can earn. Maybe if I'd read the previous book in the series...?
My problem was Beau. He screwed up his second chance. Jillian had stood by him when he was caught out with his first affair. She took responsibility for her part in the breakdown of the marriage and worked towards making it work. But then he has another affair. My issue is that I just don't know if it's possible that, should something else trouble their relationship, he's not going to revert back to cheating. Yeah, I know he said he wouldn't, and the trip back to Miami towards the end of the book is supposed to prove that he wouldn't, but as the reader, it felt more like his guilt stopped him. And at times it seemed like Beau was putting it back onto Jillian how the marriage was over before he cheated. Okay, but that refers to the first affair. How do you justify in your mind the second? I got confused when he talked about the women during and after his marriage...were there more than two during the marriage? Wouldn't surprise me...

Another thing that annoyed me is how he'd snap at her because she wasn't forgiving him in the time frame that he wanted. Dude, you stuffed up. Yes you apologised, but you take what she's dishing out because you are the one who has moved into her town and living next door.
