For me, this was also the book I was looking for when I started keeping red foots. There are many generic turtle/tortoise books out there, but none go into detail for the red foot like this one. It was very "non biased" providing different alternatives in many aspects of care. It is well worth ordering if you have or are thinking of keeping a red footed tortoise.

I opened this book initially for a quick scan and wound up reading almost all of it immediately. It is well written and extremely informative. I learned things about my redfoots, which I had owned for years, that I never knew. Just as an example, the author said the redfoots enjoy cuttlebones.... I had a box of them as a supply for my finches, so I tossed three in for the tortoises. The next day, I found 3 eggs... and the cuttlebones had almost been completely devoured.
I highly recommend the book.

After spending the last couple of weeks digesting Mike 's new book, " The
Redfoot Manual ", I felt compelled to tell everyone what a great book it is. It's just the book I wished I had, when I got my first Redfoot , almost 2 years ago now. At the same time, I learned a couple of new things, confirmed a bunch of stuff I already do ( which is always nice), and generally enjoyed reading it. I highly recommend it to all. It should be required reading for new redfoot keepers. It answers all those questions you need answered ! Patty
