Tasteful! And, Where to Find It Yourself,
By A Customer
This review is from: Redheads (Hardcover)
Redheads, by Meyerowitz, is a tasteful gallery of full-color photos. It includes both sexes, as well as all body types and ages (and all shades of red). There is no text; the focus instead is on the subjects, who show remarkable variety of expression and posture. One of the few complaints I have with the book is the limited photojournalism; nearly all of the photos are composed the same, with the subject(s) centered and posed looking at the camera. Overall, the book is fairly good, and very good if you prefer redheads.

Absolutely Beautiful Book,
By Matt Bale (Chicago) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Redheads (Paperback)
This is a truly beautiful book, and very difficult to track down. Perhaps most alluringly, the book begins with a discussion on the true rarity of redhair, how it emerged only in modern history with no apparent biological survival mechanism, how it is truly a phenomenon in nature, and how the most rare and seductive women in history have been portrayed as red heads, including Eve in the Garden of Eden, the great Queen Elizabeth, etc. There are some compelling photos in here. One of a woman with huge green eyes and very curly hair looking at the camera with fascinating facial expression. There is another photo, of a set of identical twin girls, the centerfold of the book really. They are such gorgeous children and while they are perfectly identical twin with their curly red hair and huge green/blue eyes, one is clutching a pair of sunglasses, and each has a different set of shoes. The same brand of course. This book is a beautiful gift for the redhead in your life. It is also quite a collector's item as Joel Meyerowitz' earlier work is very hard to get your hands on.

This is an amazing book the photograph is captivating in all sense of the word. Especially the 3 page fold out of an entire red headed family on the beach.I knew I needed this book for my own facination with redheads which strangley enough is one of my goals to marry one. The entire book has some very interesting people from other continents. Such beautiful women and men as well. this book is a mild plus.

I love how real the people look in these photographs. No effort was made to hide freckles or pale eyelashes. No one is spray tanned. The photographs communicate such character and warmth. This is definately one of my favorite books about redheads.
