These shades, though made of paper, look nicer than one would ever expect when installed. Being able to custom fit them to the width of the window(s) is a plus, especially for a set of windows that vary somewhat in size. So far I have had no problems with mine staying up, and I would offer the following tip: prepare the surface where you will attach the adhesive strip first; clean the area with a paper towel saturated with rubbing alcohol and allow to dry thoroughly. This removes any dirt and especially oils that prevent the adhesive from working well. The shades filter light and provide privacy although they are not light-blocking. Also, please note that the 72" length on these is misleading; the shades are that long only if the accordion pleating is fully extended, which does not happen simply by hanging them. When installed and allowed to hang naturally, the shades cover a 60" vertical space (approximately). I found that it took a lot longer to trim the width of the shades than the stated time, but I was not using the sharpest of knives:( In general I highly recommend these shades for their appearance and value!

I give 4 stars because they are durable, they have been on my windows for quite some time now. They give good coverage and privacy, however, They adhesive that comes on them does not keep them up. After a while they gave way. And it didn't matter which windows (a couple of my windows face the sun) they still come down after a few weeks. But with the thickness of the "paper" I was able to turn them into "rod style" coverings. And it wasn't hard to do it! I just took the first "pleat" and put a small line of super glue right at the edge and folded it over and hung them on a rod and they have been perfect ever since! On a personal note, they are plain :) if your looking for decorative, then I suggest a nice valence over the top of the window!

This would be a great idea if it wouls stay up. They don't stick well to wood mouldings.

I love these shades, they actually look really nice and were easy to use. We needed something right away so that we could move into our new house and have some privacy but we didn't have the time or money to find all our curtains and shades at this point. A friend recommended these and I am so glad because they were quick, easy, cheap and look almost as good as expensive permanent shades. I'd probably look into the corded version as it can be a pain to keep clipping these up and down, and I'm not sure how durable they'll be since they're made of paper, but it's been a month and I'm really happy with them. In some rooms we may not even replace them.

These were exactly what I thought, an inexpensive fix to glaring sun. They are a bit floppy when clipped in the up position but they work wonderfully for those far and few between hot, glaring sunny days here in Vermont. They are inexpensive and can replaced easily when damaged or dirty. I would like to suggest that they contain four clips instead of two so that some of the 'droop' can be eliminated.

The blinds look nice, and were easy to cut, but they won't stay up! After I put them up, they fell back down within a couple of hours, and haven't stayed up since. I've tried to tape them, but obviously tape isn't strong enough to hold up these shades. I'm considering trying duct tape, just so that I can get some usability out of them. I mean, all I wanted them for was decoration. I never planned on touching or moving them in my life.

On the pro side though, they arrived very quickly under free shipping.

We move every two years so these shades are a part of every move-in. I love the easy of cutting the shades to size and then peeling a sticky strip and installing them in seconds.

Possible Issues:
-The shades are made of paper and therefore can be ripped, crinkled, and bent easily so be careful when you are installing them. I leave my shades folded shut until they are completely stuck in place then I gently let them down.
-The shades do not allow any scenery outside of the window to be seen, but this is great when you don't want to see anything outside of your window. The shades do allow lots of light through the paper.
-The shades are very thick when folded up so can be tough to cut to size. The best way to avoid jagged edges and torn wrinkled shades is to cut the shades while they are folded up. I find a carpenter's razor works much better than scissors for getting a smooth clean cut edge.

I was VERY leery of these shades because I have never purchased a "Paper Shade" in my life, and wasn't sure that paper would be strong enough. After reading reviews I decided to give them a try.

I ordered 3M Scotch Heavy Duty Mounting Tape, 1-Inch by 50-Inch with the shades because I wanted to be sure they stuck.

I was able to cut them down to the ODD sizes I needed. My dining room has 4 windows - 2 in the center are considerably larger then the ones on each side of the 2 bigger ones. I was able to cut one shade in half and use those 2 pieces in each side window, and I was able to cut off about 4 inches of 2 more to fit the center windows.

These were simple to install. Measure your window, cut with either sharp scissors or an Exacto knife.Pull off the strip covering the sticky strip <I did that and then added the 3M Double Sided Tape>, then simply put them up. These curtains, all 6 of them, come with clips that you put on the bottom of the shade to pull up and down the shade, without touching the paper. It took me an hour to put all 4 shades up, and I'm 100% Disabled so I don't usually do this stuff. But I was excited to see them up and didn't want to wait for my husband to come home from work to do it.

I am actually pretty impressed with these shades. They look Amazing! You'd never know they are paper unless you get right up to them and feel them. They are definitely a high quality paper. I had these ugly, ugly plastic mini blinds that I paid a fortune for since they were such odd sizes, and these Paper Shades look like I spent even more!

They aren't light "Blocking", but they do filter it. I have more light now then I did with the plastic mini blinds. It's a really nice "glow" light.
