These shades, though made of paper, look nicer than one would ever expect when installed. Being able to custom fit them to the width of the window(s) is a plus, especially for a set of windows that vary somewhat in size. So far I have had no problems with mine staying up, and I would offer the following tip: prepare the surface where you will attach the adhesive strip first; clean the area with a paper towel saturated with rubbing alcohol and allow to dry thoroughly. This removes any dirt and especially oils that prevent the adhesive from working well. The shades filter light and provide privacy although they are not light-blocking. Also, please note that the 72" length on these is misleading; the shades are that long only if the accordion pleating is fully extended, which does not happen simply by hanging them. When installed and allowed to hang naturally, the shades cover a 60" vertical space (approximately). I found that it took a lot longer to trim the width of the shades than the stated time, but I was not using the sharpest of knives:( In general I highly recommend these shades for their appearance and value!

This batch of Redi Shades just isn't sticking the way the way its supposed to. The adhesive will hold for a day or two, then the shade will fall off and need to be rubbed back into place. The only solution was resorting to two-sided adhesive tape to keep them in place. This was a repeat purchase, I've had no problem with the brand until this. Don't know if they changed the type of adhesive used, but if so its definitely not an improvement. Since they are not really so cheap (Dollar Stores sell 'permanent' shades in the same price range) I thought this worth noting.

I love these shades, they actually look really nice and were easy to use. We needed something right away so that we could move into our new house and have some privacy but we didn't have the time or money to find all our curtains and shades at this point. A friend recommended these and I am so glad because they were quick, easy, cheap and look almost as good as expensive permanent shades. I'd probably look into the corded version as it can be a pain to keep clipping these up and down, and I'm not sure how durable they'll be since they're made of paper, but it's been a month and I'm really happy with them. In some rooms we may not even replace them.
