5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent temporary shade!
These shades are an excellent value to get window coverings on your home at an affordable price. The fabric ones in particular have a very nice look (compared the the paper or light blocking ones) and go up super easy. All you do is cut the width to size if needed. If you have a paper cutter that works best for a clean cut, otherwise a box cutter will do in a pinch. Then...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not what I expected
I bought this based on the review I read hoping to use this in my office cubicle. Well, it's all that the reviewer said, a nice easy to use shade that will block out a view but it's accordian style and it doesn't unfold the full 72 inches. That's a disappointment to me. I have to literally stretch it out and then hold it down with a heavy object to keep it down thus...

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent temporary shade!, July 10, 2007

These shades are an excellent value to get window coverings on your home at an affordable price. The fabric ones in particular have a very nice look (compared the the paper or light blocking ones) and go up super easy. All you do is cut the width to size if needed. If you have a paper cutter that works best for a clean cut, otherwise a box cutter will do in a pinch. Then remove the adhesive at the top and stick up in your window. I have these on 2 of my windows as I had trouble finding prefabricated shades to fit these windows. After a year and a half, they are still stuck very well and have a nice, clean look to them. If you are trying to block light these will not do it for you. You will need to get the thicker light blocking ones made by this company. These can easily be dressed up with a valance for a more finished look, or even drapes right over these to provide extra privacy. I very highly recommend these for new homeowners on a budget!

I bought this based on the review I read hoping to use this in my office cubicle. Well, it's all that the reviewer said, a nice easy to use shade that will block out a view but it's accordian style and it doesn't unfold the full 72 inches. That's a disappointment to me. I have to literally stretch it out and then hold it down with a heavy object to keep it down thus taking out the nice accordian look making it look more like a piece of paper/fabric I'd just put up rather than the fitted blind it was supposed to look like so it's not really going to work for me. If you want a long accordian style blind that you can't really raise of lift easily just for a temporary solution such as when you're moving it's okay. If you have tall windows and have something to hold the bottom down so it covers the entire window and you don't mind having a heavy object marring the look then go for it. I think the 72" really amounts to 40" to 45" so buy with that in mind. I can't imagine how short the 36" blind would be. Also, I have yet to leave it unfurled for longer than an hour so maybe in time it will fall into it's full 72" but if so I've no idea how long it may be required to hang till that happens.

3.0 out of 5 stars Does a basic job, January 31, 2009

This shade is good for a temporary fix or to use someplace where it doesn't get much use. It is not attractive when raised, because the pins supplied make it look bowed.
You basically glue it to the window frame and are given a couple of "clothespins" to keep it up.
It does the trick and for the price it is fine. Only one improvement I would suggest would be to include more of the pins, so it doesn't sag in the middle.

1.0 out of 5 stars very disappointing, December 16, 2008

The shade itself is adequate but, the attachment device was useless. It was applied exactly as directed and did not last a week. We went out and got heavy duty attachments, similair to what was included but more industrial, and it has worked fine. This added another 50% per window though. It would be a better product if these more study attachments were included and the price slightly increased. As is, it was very inconvenient.

We were renting a temporary building for extra office space and needed a quick fix for the front windows. These install easily and look great. Even after hanging a few weeks they do not unfold all the way to the bottom of the window. I went out, bought some velcro tabs and installed the velcro at the bottom of the window. Now when I want them all the way down I just velcro them and no one can even notice. I used a velcro tab every 12 inches or so to keep the bottom from buckling.

2.0 out of 5 stars Redishade sagging if over 32" wide.., May 27, 2009

Have the Accordion Cellular Redishade ; have them installed on windows, 28" 32" and 35" wide. They are made of Plastic PVC frames NOT aluminum
and the fabric is opaque . You cannot see through the fabric when it is hung.

Have had the shades hung for 6 months now & have noticed Sagging in the center are from the 35" ones. It appears there is NOT enough support in the frame to span this distance. Have inquired to Redishade company to see if they make another piece or support to hold up my shade. The appears not to have made such an accessory. They are sending me and additional bracket which is also made of plastic. Don't they do any quality checks for longevity? Levelor and Graber make a metal support for shades when you have an outside mount like ours is and your shades are wider than 32" I may try to use support if I can find one on Ebay.

Other then that I liked the price going in & they were easy to adjust. Just make sure your windows aren't wider then 32" other wise you may get this sag...

1.0 out of 5 stars Awful-Fall Down Within 2 Hours, March 10, 2011
This review is from: Redi Shade 3102519 White Fabric Window Shade, 48-by-72-Inch (Tools & Home Improvement)
I ordered these shades in 36 and 48 inches across. Within two hours, they fell down. I even used 3MM's to hold them in place and they still fell down. If you have a plaster or metal plated window surround-these will not stay up. I had to temporarily use thumb tacks to keep them in place. Not worth the money, the hassle and the cheap quality of them. If you really want to keep getting up to affix them back to the window sill, by all means by these shades. Otherwise, keep looking.

1.0 out of 5 stars not a regular shade, December 15, 2008
This review is from: Redi Shade 3102519 White Fabric Window Shade, 48-by-72-Inch (Tools & Home Improvement)
No where in the write up of the shade does it say that it is a temporary shade. I wanted a real shade to hang at the window. The shipping was great, fast in good condition. Ann
