5.0 out of 5 stars Redi Shade Easy Touch Window Shade
I bought two of these shade and the cutting tool. When I first got them out of the box I thought, "Oh no." because they look like they would be difficult to size. I was wrong! I strongly recommend buying the sizing/cutting tool with the shades. Resizing them takes a little elbow grease, mainly when you are making the first cut through the top of the shade. It's well...

I ordered two of these shades yesterday and I got them today! Amazing service by Amazon. We had no problem installing the brackets. The first shade is nice, not crazy about the button, but worked fine. The second shade immediately hung up when trying to pull it down. Something was wrong with the cords inside and no matter which way we tried, the shade will not pull down...

It's well worth the effort. I hung these shades with the brackets (the brackets screw in and the shade snaps into the two brackets) and they are fantastic. These shades look tidy/clean, they let a lot of light in, and the button to raise and lower them means no messy cord. I resized and put both shades up myself in less than an hour. I'm going to now buy two more!

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent value, November 15, 2007

We bought this shade to replace the rusted mini-blinds in our toddler's room. The windows are single-pane, so we wanted something with insulation, and his age meant that cords were inappropriate anyway. They are good-looking shades and the lift mechanism is easy and clean. We cut them to fit the window with a kitchen knife. The stick-on attachment failed, however, so we used the screw-in brackets, but even with that it took less time to install these than to take down the mini-blinds. Because this was a rental we didn't want to spend a lot, but the cheapest redi-shades with a clip look crappy pretty fast--this is a nice compromise.

Wow, this is a great product.
Works well and the price is right.
You will need to purchase the knife (about $2.50) to cut the shade to size.

The first shade is nice, not crazy about the button, but worked fine. The second shade immediately hung up when trying to pull it down. Something was wrong with the cords inside and no matter which way we tried, the shade will not pull down more than about 20". I had no choice but to return the second shade and will look for another without the button. The return process is easy, Amazon even provides the return label you print out. Great customer service! One odd thing was that each shade was packaged separately which means there are two humongous boxes with miles of brown paper inside. They could easily have been shipped together in one box, it would have held at least a dozen shades! Maybe they should start thinking "green". I will reorder another style, I love Amazon!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Shades, May 9, 2008
This review is from: Redi Shade Easy Touch 36-by-64 Inch Cellular Honeycomb Window Shade, White #50317 (Tools & Home Improvement)
I purchased these shades because we have odd sized windows and these are the only cellular shade that you can size yourself. I was planning on purchasing more, but it appears that they are no longer available.

I am pleasntly suprised with this shade. The installation was so easy using the adhesive mount that I had to try it. I thought it would fall right down and I'd need to use the screw down mount as a backup, but the shade seems to be holding on without a sag or problem. I threw out the screw mount.
You would need to spend 3-4 times as much money to upgrade from this shade. The only drawback from this shade is the need to push a button in the center of the bottom of the shade in order to adjust the height. If it's covering a window that requires frequent adjustment, I may opt to spend extra for a shade that had no button.
My goal for this shade was to have an energy efficient cellular shade without cords (I have a baby at home), and this shade appears to be the best value on the market.
