For many years, 'Carbonless' duplicating-paper was the standard technology for creating multiple, duplicate copies of forms - that is, in situations where there was no access to a computer and printer. Since (in this country, at least) these situations are increasingly rare, this technology is becoming obsolete.

However, the reality is, it has never been very satisfactory: when compared with the (even earlier!) technology of 'Carbon Paper' (wherein, a separate sheet of dye-coated paper is inserted behind every sheet in the 'duplicating stack', before filling-out the form), carbonless duplicating-paper (so-named because it does away with these extra dye-coated sheets) creates weak, pale, hard-to-read copies that tend to fade, over time - nothing like the crisp, 'robust' copies generated by the (admittedly inconvenient) earlier Carbon Paper system.

I have been using these Carbonless triplicate forms in my repair-business for almost 30 years (in my defense, please remember that personal computers were far less trouble-free 30 years ago); in that time, these forms have proven to be simple, utterly reliable, and reasonably inexpensive (I rarely use more than two forms per day). However, I have always used these forms with separate Carbon Paper sheets, rather than relying on the built-in 'Carbonless' chemicals to make the copies.

At this point in history, it would seem that the Carbon Paper technology is completely obsolete: i.e., I can find no source for high quality, 'multiple-copy' Carbon Paper, only the much lower quality 'single-copy' Carbon Paper (this stuff is too cumbersome, even for me!).

Great forms my husbands uses them for his work orders as a contractor. He likes that there are three copies unlike a lot of other forms.
