The reason I chose this book for my adult students, as well as for the more advanced younger students, is that is isn't merely a "how to" book, but a "why to" book. The discussions within it are concise yet sufficiently detailed, and there are highlighted questions interspersed periodically throughout the book that aid the reader in thinking about what her/she has just read. I found myself relearning things about which I hadn't thought in decades!
I particulary liked the way the book can be opened to almost any page and read in shorter bursts. It doesn't have to be read straight through, front to back. This is verly helpful for the busy adult student.
This book isn't just for the adult Bar/Bat Mitzvah student. It is a great way for any adult or advancved younger reader to learn more about Judaism.
