This book is one of the very best I've read. The author, Dr. Barry Vann, is quite the authority on the subject of Appalachia and the Ozarks. Since this is my heritage as well, I enjoyed the new insights even more. I recommend this book to anyone looking to further their knowledge about Scots-Irish history.
