I have thick, heavy, medium to coarse, wavy Asian hair. I color it, perm it, and use hot styling tools on it. I've been using Crede Rx from Japan for the last three years and though I really love that product... I really hate paying the price. It is imported and expensive. I have tried to use various drugstore brand hair treatments/conditioners such as Pantene, Neutrogena, Aussie, Dove, L'Oreal, Fructisse, Infusium and nothing comes close. I have even tried MOP, Bumble & Bumble, Paul Mitchell, Matrix, Biolage, Nexxus, Frederic Fekkai, and Shiseido and those are at best only marginally better than the drugstore brands.
When I was travelling with a co-worker a couple of months ago, I notice she brought her Redken Smooth Down Butter Treatment. I asked her if I could try some of her conditioner because I was searching for a good conditioner and wasn't able to find one. She was more than happy to share and couldn't stop raving about it. And she was right! I was amazed at how well it worked and how smooth my hair felt after just one use. And just like Crede Rx, I didn't need a ton of it for my long hair. I worked a little of it into the bottom half of my hair and let it sit for 3 minutes Then, just before I was about to rinse, I messaged it into the rest of my hair. I also applied a dime-sized amount in towel-dried hair as a leave-in for extra conditioning. My hair was so silky after styling!
You can get two tubes of this stuff from Amazon for around $30. A little tub of Crede RX from my stylist is $35. It works great, smells nice, and is definitely worth the money.

Have used this conditioner for about a couple of years and love it. It's a nice heavy conditioner. Leaves my hair with shine.

There are several products like this on the market, but I find that the Redken butter treatment works as well as any of the more expensive brands that I've tried. It gives me a smooth, salon-like finish when I apply it after shampoo, wait 5-10" and rinse, but can also be used on dry hair to style it.
