5.0 out of 5 stars Danny and Buddy! June 6, 2008
Format:Audio CD
The interaction between Danny and Buddy Emmons on these recordings is simply incredible! In fact it's so good that I think this is some of the very best improvised music I've ever heard (and I've heard a lot). I have just about everything Danny's done, including a few good bootlegs. This is probably my favorite recording of his and could very well contain some of his best recorded moments. I couldn't recommend this CD enough.

4.0 out of 5 stars Well worth having in your collection... January 10, 2013
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
......but not at the top of Danny's achievements, though this also reflects how high Danny set the bar. I'm simply not that much a fan of the jazz medium and Danny's very capable excursions here into country-fide azz simply touch some wrong nerves in me. But that's just me. The playing is still other-worldly. I think Danny went down to the same crossroads Robert Johnson found..........
