Describes the physical characteristics and the ability to survive of redwood trees.
Gr 2-4--An adequate if superficial treatment of giant redwoods and sequoias, covering size, life span, location, and other pertinent facts. The destruction of ancient redwood forests and the role of the government in protecting them is very briefly discussed. The format is attractive, with full-page color photographs facing text on every spread. However, the captions do nothing to expand on the photos and the text suffers from an excess of exclamation points.
