Product Description

Reebok was founded for one of the best reasons possible: athletes wanted to run faster. So in the 1890s, Joseph William Foster made some of the first known running shoes with spikes in them. By 1895, he was in business making shoes by hand for top runners; and before long his fledgling company, J.W. Foster and Sons, developed an international clientele of distinguished athletes.

Sports car-inspired Z-Series foam is combined with high abrasion rubber for quicker stops and lasting agility in this Reebok trainer.

These shoes are probably the closest anyone will ever come to walking on a cloud. I purchased these about a week ago and could not be happier with the purchase. I have slacked on working out for the past several years until a friend convinced me its time to get back in shape. I have been doing some heavy lifting followed by cardio about five times a week. Cardio included strairmaster, treadmill, and ellipticals. When I would run in my training shoes (as a tip-toe walker/runner), my calves would lock up after about ten minutes and I would be in serious pain. I decided it was time to get a good "running shoe" to combat the issue. I tried to nike free run 5.0 which were nice, but there was no heel support due to a bad design so I then tried the Zquicks. Immediately I loved the way they felt and how well they formed to my feet. I have run approximately 10 miles total in these and the pain has all but disappeared. There is still a bit of calf pain due to how I run but that has nothing to do with the shoe. The soles conform to whatever you are running on and there is amazing flexibility. They remind me of a tire tread and offer amazing grip and mobility. The design is well engineered and I believe with proper maintenance, these shoes will last a long time. The support is about the biggest selling point of these. I would suggest getting a test done to see what kind of arch your foot has but for flat arches, this shoe is phenomenal. They are incredibly soft yet offer enough structure to be comfortable on long runs. I may update as I get some more miles in these, but initial thoughts are that this is one great running shoe. I give it 4.5/5 because I dont feel anything is perfect and there could always be room for improvement.Read more ›

First, my street cred. I've a longtime runner. Been running long distance for 20 plus years. Not an elite runner, just for fun. I average 8:05 min miles and run about 15-20 miles a week.
So, I've gone through a lot of shoes. These shoes grabbed my attention at the store. They're light weight, cool looking and offer more cushion than the current "natural" trending shoe. I tried them one, gave them a test lap around the store and figured, what the heck. Then came the real test - a four-mile run around the neighborhood. Have to say, I felt a bit awkward in them starting out. Probably because I'm used to a minimalist shoe, but I never felt any pain, just a different feel then I was used to. It didn't stop me from pushing my run up to max speed and breaking 8 min miles. They do provide good traction, which was nice on the wet roads I was on. After my run, everything felt fine. Then that night, the pain started setting in. My calves and shins began to burn. The next morning it was extremely painful to get out of bed. I knew it was the shoes. I realize now that they caused me to run much different than I'm used to and my muscles paid the price. So, I caution any long-time runners. Break them in slowly. Go easy. I do feel like these will be good shoes, but they cause the foot strike to be so different that it's going to take some getting used to.
    Peace, Love, Run.

    UPDATE:

After using these shoes for a few months, I have decreased my rating from 5 stars down to 4. These are still excellent shoes for the gym, but I am seeing some issues when going for runs in them. Like another reviewer mentioned, the soles are rather hard. Even though this gives you nice grip and traction, especially on wet pavement, the balls of my feet seem to take a beating every time. In my original review, I mentioned I was between getting these and the Nike Free's. A week ago I ended up purchasing a pair of the Nike Free 5.0 14s since I was feeling some discomfort when running in the ZQuick's. There is a considerable difference in the soles and I prefer the softer, less thick nike soles much better. I ran with both pairs on a treadmill to compare and it is very obvious that the Nike's are much quieter while still offering great traction.

To summarize, the ZQuicks are nice shoes and perfect for wearing in the gym, but I would have to suggest a shoe with a softer, thinner sole for running purposes. Also, The ZQuicks have held up very well so far with minimal wear on the soles and no snags on the mesh.

After looking at numerous pairs of running shoes, I decided to give these a try. It came down between the ZQuicks or Nike Free's but decided to see what Reebok had to offer.

First, the looks. I went with the gray and black shoes and I love how they look. Very nice-looking running shoes with the unique side mesh and laser-cut soles.

Next, the performance. I have only run in these a few times and worked out in them for about a week so we will see how they hold up but so far they are excellent.
