Reebok Men's Zig Pulse Running Shoe

I purchased these shoes for my son, for $99.99, less than 2 months ago. He wears them to school (not for sports, etc). He loves the comfort of them, BUT within 6 weeks the mesh on the inside of the foot has split in exactly the same place on both shoes. It is about a dime size hole on each shoe. I talked to Reebok and they told me this is covered under their "Manufacturer's defect" return policy. You can send them back to Reebok (even if purchased elsewhere) and they will exchange them for the same shoes, or a different style pair of shoes. The phone number to call is 800-843-4444. I will be sending my son's shoes back in for different shoes, as the customer service rep could not tell me if this issue has been fixed on the Zigs. It's not worth taking another chance on $100 shoes that lasted less than 2 months. I would not recommend buying these until Reebok fixes this issue. If they fix this problem, then I would give these shoes 5 stars.

I would give this shoe 5 stars if not for its not-very-durable mesh cover.

I paid over $100 (including tax at a sporting goods store) for this shoe and it did not even last an hour of use before I noticed a hole in my left shoe's cover.

So, I'd give it 5 stars for comfort level and 1 for its (lack of) durability.

I must say that the Silver/Neon Orange combination is catchy to the eye, looks as if it was built for speed/cushion and even felt great in the store. Even so, quite simply put, these shoes are more apt to be suitable for cross-training and lighter use than running longer distances. The mesh covering, though very breathable is just flimsy. After five (5) weekends of regular running use, my feet were protesting in a major way.

On a rainy Sunday morning run this morning, I fetched my old Nike Air Max Plus from the closet (with about 400 miles on them) and there was just no comparison, even with the wear on them. The cushion, platform and overall feel of the Nikes is just totally superior....and my knees/feet thanked me for wearing them.

As with the others' comments, I feel that 100 plus dollars is excessive for limited use. There is definitely some need for major improvement to make it competitive in that price range as a running shoe.

My 11-year-old son wears these daily. He does what 11-year-old boys do. He plays. He should be able to play in these pricey sneakers without them falling apart before our very eyes 6 weeks after the initial purchase. There are several holes in the mesh, but not even necessarily at standard shoe stress points. Instead, right in the middle of the instep and near the arch the material is literally falling apart. Despite the unique and very nice styling of these shoes, use your money elsewhere.

The mesh on the top also began to deteriorate where the shoes bend. There was no abuse of the shoe, just daily wear.

Reebok customer service is horrible, but if you need to return, call 800-843-4444 to get a return authorization. They will allow you to replace with any shoe at the same price point. Good luck...they have a 6+ week turn around. John at x3666 is the supervisor of the department

These shoes are SUPER comfortable, they greatly reduced the strain on my feet, ankles. The downside is that they are made of very flimsy material. My last pair or running shoes lasted years. Ive had these 2 weeks and they are already showing significant wear and tear with only moderate use. If these had been $50 shoes, I would give them 5+ stars for the comfort alone, but for $100+ shoes, the flimsy design is not acceptable. If Rebook would revamp these with higher quality material, and maintain the overall design, they would have a winner!

I've never been so disappointed in a pair of shoes. I purchased a customized pair of these shoes for my son, directly from Reebok. He wore them for just over a month before holes/rips appeared in the tops of the shoes. Both pairs have rips in the material on the top, right by the pinky toe. My family tends to stick with Nike, but my son liked these, so he built a pair and our first Reebok experience turned out to be our last. These shoes obviously have poor materials and craftsmanship in order for regular use to cause this so quickly. I paid over $160.00 for these shoes and can definitely say that they are not worth the money. Potential buyer, beware!

I picked up a pair of Zigtechs for running & casual wear around town after hearing how comfortable they're supposed to be. Unfortunately, they really aren't comfortable shoes; i wear a size 12 & have normal width & arch, & these feel like they put strain on my feet at weird pressure points on the inside of my foot. I had turf toe from playing high school football, & hadn't experienced any problem with it in years until recently, when i re-aggravated it by sprinting through an airport while wearing these shoes. I don't think it would've have happened if i'd been wearing my old Nikes; these shoes seem to cause an unpleasant amount of dorsal flexion in the toes & front of the foot while walking. Zigtechs look cool, but I wouldn't recommend them for comfort or support...

I hate the colors they offer in the Zig series but I will say the shoe is the best running shoe on the market. I am a bigger guy and carry alot of muscle mass and these shoes are like magic. I really feel lighter on my feet and can run for longer periods. I think they look goofy but they work. Buy these shoes and experience for yourself.

LOOK Great, only lasted 8 weeks. The mesh at the top tore in 4 different spots.
