5.0 out of 5 stars The praise is not hype
Thirty two years ago, I broke a bone in my foot. Things never got better, and I've been living with pain ever since. 1.0 out of 5 stars Changed from the previosu style - no longer a good shoe.
I loved the previous model of the Road Plus: I've been wearing this specific style for several years, and logging about 50 miles per week with no trouble. It was a great shoe.

Thirty two years ago, I broke a bone in my foot. Things never got better, and I've been living with pain ever since. However, close to a decade ago when a podiatrist gave me his short list of recommended shoes, Reebok DMX was on the it. I got substantial relief and made sure to seek out the same model for years to come. I stocked up when they became harder to find.

In more recent years, I've been wearing other brands. I recently found this pair on Amazon at a great sale price and decided to try Reeboks again. The description for these was completely different, as was the construction and latest buzz words. The DMX part no longer figured into the name, and was easy to overlook in the description. I didn't think it would be relevant. Ironically, DMX is now more prominently displayed on the shoe itself.

I was right not to expect these to be like the ones I had in the past. They looked and felt nothing like them and lacked the prominent air cushion. But they were far better than the old model, gave me better support, and left me in little to no pain.

They are also great overall running shoes and I'd still buy them if my foot recovered tomorrow. In fact, I fully expect my foot to recover soon. I finally found a podiatrist who was able to tell my the true source of my foot problem, so I'm not saying it will be the shoes that cure me. But they will aid in the recovery and remain my shoe of choice until Reebok tops them.

Great all around stability shoe. Great combination of stability and cushioning. This was not my first pair of Road Plus' and it won't be my last.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great shoe!, July 11, 2010
7 years ago I had knee pain from running. I tried a variety of shoes, and none helped. I went to a running store and they recommended Reebok Premier DMX. I bought them and the knee pain was gone immediately. For 7 years and 5 marathon later I've been buying these same Reebok Premier shoes and have never had 1 day of leg pain or injuries since. Very comfortable shoe, great support, and very well made. I just bought 2 new pairs of these here on amazon.com. A deal at $50/each, easily double the price at a running store.

1.0 out of 5 stars Changed from the previosu style - no longer a good shoe., August 8, 2009
I loved the previous model of the Road Plus: I've been wearing this specific style for several years, and logging about 50 miles per week with no trouble. It was a great shoe.

Now Reebok has gone and changed the shoe for the worse. They've added these extra removable insoles which completely change the fit of the shoe. The insoles make the fit cramped - even when I usually buy shoes a half size bigger than my actual fit (12 up from 11.5). The other problem is that you can't take the insoles out - they've hardened the sides of the shoe to retain the insoles, and if you take them out the shoe will chew up your feet.

All in all, a HUGE disappointment. I can't wear these shoes.
