I bought this model because I knew I would not use one if I had to use a chest strap with it. When I got it I thought it was defective because it only has one silver button (below the display). I guess this is just the newer model and only requires one finger to get a reading. It always gives me a reading within 2-3 seconds. I use it during my p90x workouts so there is usually a short interval between sets when I can press the button. I have even pressed it while doing some cardio and I am still able to get a reading within a couple of seconds. It seems to be pretty accurate as I have tested it against a manual reading with a stop watch. It does look a little better in the picture as the white around the edges in person is kind of ugly. But it does seem durable and reliable so I am happy with it. I will probably try to figure out the calorie counter and pedometer this week. If it wasn't for the white around the sides I would have rated it a five. If you're looking for a reliable strapless monitor, this is a good one for 50 bucks.

First off, I basically use the watch for my workouts. I needed a strapless heart monitor that I could throw in my bag when I travel or hit the gym. The device is perfect for this. Heart rate monitor is very good, easy to use and accurate. My problems start with the other functions. I started leaving it on after my workouts as a standard watch but soon stopped, as the clock randomly resets to Noon once every few days. The interface is not intuitive, and the other functions arent clearly accessable. The pedometer will often decide to stop for a quarter mile or so, then restart for whatever reason. I know this because part of my workout is a short mile long jog to my gym. Occasionally the pedometer reads a mile, sometimes it magically resets to 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile.
Overall, its good for what I bought it for, but i'll keep my old watch for the non workout part of my day.

Once I figured out how to make this watch show me my heart rate while on the bike while in the middle of a spinning class, I was impressed. Everyone in the class wears these gizmos around their chests. I had mine in plain sight. Here is the trick with the watch. If your heart rate doesn't pop up in the time frame they say, just lick your finger and then push the button. Guaranteed it will work every time. Believe me. I know exactly what my heart rate is every minute in that class. Very important when you are 68 and with a bunch of young people.Reebok Regular Fitwatch Plus Strapless Heart Rate Monitor and Pedometer with Calorie Counter
