Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com

This 32-minute tape presents a carefully structured, well- instructed workout that targets the abdominals in three progressively more difficult segments. Just doing the warm-up and the first eight-minute segment will be enough of a challenge if you're a beginner. Work up to doing the harder segments or all of them as your abs can take it. One exerciser demonstrates modifications to make each exercise easier. Most of the exercises are variations of the familiar curl-up, but the attention to technique will give you a new perspective even if you're an experienced ab exerciser. "Contract and control" are the keywords for working the abdominal muscles. Instead of starting lying down and lifting up into a curl-up, for example, in one segment you start from the lifted, contracted position, and lower down. This is harder and more effective because you're concentrating on the contraction. One primary reason to strengthen the abdominals is for back support, so this video wisely also provides some specific back strengtheners. --Joan Price

4.0 out of 5 stars Good workout..., August 1, 2000

This review is from: Reebok Versa: Strong Abs [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This tape has a 4 minute warm up, and then has 3 seperate 8 minute workouts - segment 1 is the easiest and then each segment gets more advanced. Each segment works all parts of your abs. I thought the 1st segment was way too easy, but the second and third are good workouts and you will feel it in your abs if you do the whole tape. There is a lot of variety in the exercises, and the tape ends with a 4 minute cool down.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great ab workout, June 11, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Reebok Versa: Strong Abs [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This video has a great abdominal workout and I can definitely feel the results. The only downside is the second instructor. Kathy Kaehler is great but there is a second Kathy that leads workout sections 1 through 3 and she is quite annoying. She talks throughout the whole workout. I do this video and the "Legs" video back to back and find myself enjoying the "Legs" workout more just because the second Kathy is missing. Let's hope that Reebok doesn't use this format for any other videos.
