This review is from: Reebok NFL X-Treme Grip II Football Gloves (Sports)
These gloves came in a couple of weeks ago, and I love them. The palm side is lined with a rubbery material that grips the football, making those difficult catches that much easier. They breathe well too, so it doesn't feel like you're wearing latex gloves you stole from the doc's office.

But the gloves aren't effective when the ball is wet. At least not with the rubber footballs we use (Wilson F1625 NCAA Supreme Game Football (Official Size)), and same with a pure leather football that is a bit worn. In fact, you're more prone to dropping a pass with the gloves on when then with your bare hands. However, this inconvenience seems to be unavoidable, as my other friends who have similar gloves from Nike have the same problem, and take off their gloves on a wet day.

I haven't heard of any gloves really solving the slippery-when-wet problem. If you're really looking for something that'll work on a wet day, I'd suggest a fairly new leather ball, which is generally a less slippery material when wet. I make no promises, but I notice that NFL receivers continue to wear their gloves even on a wet day. But at the same time NFL officials still do their best to keep the ball dry, so that might also have something to do with it.

Bottom line: great gloves so far. I'll update this after more use.

4.0 out of 5 stars TD's are still only worth 6, February 19, 2010
I missed a touchdown I should have had in a recent game, but the quarterback said that was due to my stone hands and not my gloves... So I guess these are pretty good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome gloves, February 6, 2010

these gloves were awesome. They lasted a long time and they kept their tackiness for almost half the season. My team started practicing in july and they last all the way untill late september. They still worked after that but they just weren't good to use for games. Definitely a good glove for the price.
