I'm not going to call this game a must buy but for the price its a pretty entertaining game. If you like catching fish in bunches this is not the game for you. This game is definitely a "simulation" game and is pretty difficult. Natsume should be credited for releasing this game given all the games being cancelled for Dreamcast. The scenary is quite stunning, although the underwater views are lacking. The fish are modeled very well. A total of 14 fishing holes can be attained but it will take you awhile. As I said, this is no arcade game. You will need patience, skill and some luck, just like the real thing. The lures look realistic in the underwater view and perform correctly. The sound is pretty tranquil but I'd turn off the music and stick with the nature sounds. I'm not sure there is much advantage using the fishing controller over the normal DC controller. I have the Sega fishing controller. Some reviews I have read state that is the only one that works properly with the game and that other fishing controller don't. In closing, I think this game is a good value. If you like a true fishing experince this game will fill that need. If you want to catch a fish on every cast you may want to skip this one.

If you have ever played reel fishing on the PSX. This game is just a suped up version of that with new fishing areas. Not a very exciting game.
