Individual chapters group the movies by trashy genres ranging from chainsaw massacres to sexy sizzlers, and discuss alleged reasons why these now-great names allowed themselves to become part of some of the sleaziest frames to be served upon the silver screen. A humorous, tongue-in-cheek read Reel Shame is especially recommended for B-movie enthusiasts.

The duos criticism always blend good-natured sarcasm/ribbing with just the right dose of critical honesty, and it is impossible to read just one (believe me, I've tried). The authors have even added in some dollops of information for the b-movie newcomer/curious, along with a list of recommended reading and other, similar websites worth visiting. For fans of b-movies (or just of sarcastic reviews of silly movies) this is a must read.... Highly recommended.

This book is a rare find: few works are so devoted to the lowliest and most shameful aberrations to sully the silver screen, and even fewer offer such sharp writing and humorous takes on film conventions. Like a rose emerging from a manure-fertilized tract of mud...you know what? Forget the flowery praise, let's keep it simple: go out and read this book, I doubt you'll be disappointed. While it is a must-have for the serious b-movie fan, the casual filmgoer will also find it engrossing, revealing as it does the dark origins and career foibles of the top Hollywood illuminati. And more importantly, it's both hilarious and safety-conscious (yes, safety-conscious...bearing numerous warnings lest we someday find ourselves watching such seizure-inducing fare as Tentacles or The Lonely Lady.)

Don't let the somewhat simplistic cover fool you! This book is spectacular! It's well written and extremely humorous! And boy do they point out a lot of cool stuff! Like, do you ever notice how popular a movie with Leonardo DiCaprio is when he dies in it? Titanic, smashed the box office, but The Beach flopped. If you've always wanted to know how some of Hollywood's biggest stars began their careers, or if you enjoy heckling bad movies, this book is must read! Damn good job Chris and Scott!

the stewards of stomptokyo.com have written a book that will soon take its rightful place on the coffee table of every b flick buff, right next to the videohound guides and danny peary tomes. its playful tone reads like you're jawing with friends after watching one of the movies in question, and its insight elevates it above an exercise in pointing and laughing. simply put, reel shame rocks.

For all you bad movie lovers, this book is a must. The guys in charge love these movies and take their hobby seriously, and a lot of enter/info-tainement comes out of their labor of love. I'd recommend this book to anyone who loves movies, be they bad or good, because it's something for everyone. Pick it up now!!!

Aside from being a subversive expose of all that Hollywood hype, this book is extremely funny. The authors obviously love the bad movies they write about, but they aren't fooled by them. This should make you look at your local video selection in a whole new light!
