If you can't dance to this then your feet are rooted!,

Wish you were in Cuba? Then pour a rum, light a cigar, put on this disc, turn up the volume and close your eyes. If you aren't up and dancing by the end of this album then man you ain't got rhythm! This is a feel good, dance/party sound. Cubanismo have a very tight rhythm and horn section and great vocals. I recently attended a concert by Cubanismo in Taiwan. Although 99% of the people had no idea what the lyrics meant, and were probably not very familiar with this type of music the whole audience was bopping and swaying to the music throughout the concert and shouting for more at the end. They are HOT,HOT,HOT. Don't miss this band if they come to your town, a great evenings entertainment. Enjoy the disc.

Hottest Cuban Band today!,
By
This review is from: Reencarnacion (Audio CD)
This and Malembe have solidified Cubanismo! as the hottest band out of Cuba now. There are lyrics, "descargas" (jamming), talent and a lot of "sabor". And of course Alemany's fat and typically cuban trumpet soloing all over the place. With due respect to the late "tresero" and pillar of this music, this band is like Arsenio on steroids!

Wow.,

I am a newcomer to Cuban music; my previous exposure to it was through American musicians of Cuban descent (Gloria Estefan and various members of KC's Sunshine Band come to mind immediately). I couldn't have found a better place to start than this CD. Just pick a song and listen - you won't be disappointed. Don't worry if you don't speak Spanish - I don't, and that means the vocals simply become another instrument. Highlights for me include 'El Perico' (Don't cry!) and 'Ibiono Utereran'; and do any of my fellow Deadheads think 'Canto Al Monte' sounds like 'Scarlet Begonias'?
