4.0 out of 5 stars If you can't dance to this then your feet are rooted!
Wish you were in Cuba? Then pour a rum, light a cigar, put on this disc, turn up the volume and close your eyes. If you aren't up and dancing by the end of this album then man you ain't got rhythm! 3.0 out of 5 stars OK
Nothing great here. A couple of tracks swing real good, but mostly an unspectular sample of cuban music.

Wish you were in Cuba? Then pour a rum, light a cigar, put on this disc, turn up the volume and close your eyes. If you aren't up and dancing by the end of this album then man you ain't got rhythm! This is a feel good, dance/party sound. Cubanismo have a very tight rhythm and horn section and great vocals. I recently attended a concert by Cubanismo in Taiwan. Although 99% of the people had no idea what the lyrics meant, and were probably not very familiar with this type of music the whole audience was bopping and swaying to the music throughout the concert and shouting for more at the end. They are HOT,HOT,HOT. Don't miss this band if they come to your town, a great evenings entertainment. Enjoy the disc.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hottest Cuban Band today!, March 15, 2000
By
This review is from: Reencarnacion (Audio CD)
This and Malembe have solidified Cubanismo! as the hottest band out of Cuba now. There are lyrics, "descargas" (jamming), talent and a lot of "sabor". And of course Alemany's fat and typically cuban trumpet soloing all over the place. With due respect to the late "tresero" and pillar of this music, this band is like Arsenio on steroids!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow., May 26, 1999

I am a newcomer to Cuban music; my previous exposure to it was through American musicians of Cuban descent (Gloria Estefan and various members of KC's Sunshine Band come to mind immediately). I couldn't have found a better place to start than this CD. Just pick a song and listen - you won't be disappointed. Don't worry if you don't speak Spanish - I don't, and that means the vocals simply become another instrument. Highlights for me include 'El Perico' (Don't cry!) and 'Ibiono Utereran'; and do any of my fellow Deadheads think 'Canto Al Monte' sounds like 'Scarlet Begonias'?

5.0 out of 5 stars Hot Latin Beat, January 5, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Reencarnacion (Audio CD)
Jazzy brassy big band sound with hot rhythm. The first time I heard this CD was in a co-workers office and the hot Latin beat made me feel like I was on vacation on a tropical island sipping a frozen drink. Aggressively upbeat, it would be impossible to listen to this and not be in a good mood.

I don't love everything from Cubanismo--especially that cajun inspired CD, but this one i just love. Great dance music, sharp muscianship, and great arranging leads to a CD with almost every track being great. This has made it into my car cd changer, which is a big committment, eh? Anyway, if you are looking for cuban music harder than buena vista, this CD should be one of your purchases.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sabor cubano clasico, June 10, 2006
By
This review is from: Reencarnacion (Audio CD)

Great CD for fast paced cuban music. I have just started to listen to Cuban music, from Valdez to Buena Vista to these guys is a great transition. I am not going to comment on each song but this is a good cd to place in player and have people dance.
Have not heard previous cd but this one should be a good start.
Have fun listening!
