5.0 out of 5 stars surprised and happy with taste
I read the other reviews, then tried for myself. I've never tried canned artichokes before only large jars from Costco. Only problem is that they were in oil and I prefer in water for calorie counting. To my surprise these were great, a little seasoning a bit of fresh lemon. I really enjoyed them. Also told my family about how good they were.

3.0 out of 5 stars Artichoke, but not all hearts
These artichoke "hearts" contain too much leaf for my taste. To be fair, most (NOT all) of the leaf is edible, but these are being sold as hearts. Still, pretty good artichoke parts if you buy them when the price is right.

2.0 out of 5 stars tough, November 30, 2007
This review is from: Reese Artichoke Hearts 6-8, 14-Ounce Cans (Pack of 12) (Grocery)
These are the toughest artichoke hearts I've ever eaten. They're so tough, they squeak when you chew them. I'm giving several cans away.

3.0 out of 5 stars Canned artichokes. eh., June 5, 2011

Reese canned artichoke hearts are best used in hot, cooked dishes.

These canned artichokes are not good on their own. They are a little waxy and need to be rinsed to get rid of the metalic flavor.

A good item in a pinch, but not my first choice.

These artichoke hearts have a nice flavor and are a pretty good value, but there are some very tough leaves in every can. Like the kind you really would rather not try to chew and swallow. I use these artichokes for everyday dinners, but would not serve them to guests.

5.0 out of 5 stars I really love these artichoke hearts in many dishes!, September 29, 2009

I discovered these years ago and love them in many dishes, varying from homemade pizzas to wraps to chicken bakes and salads! The only thing is that you have to make sure to RINSE THEM WELL before using or else they taste salty. I put mine in a collander and rinse for several minutes before adding to a dish. Great for keeping in the pantry for adding veggies to a dish when you don't have fresh ones on-hand!

This brand of artichoke hearts are consistantly good. We use them for all recipes, from a simple pesto and art. hearts on pasta, to dips, sauses, etc. We like ours in a salad, too.Remember they are not "marinated, like the ones in jars, so these are best for cooking. As far as canned artichoke hearts go, these are top drawer!

5.0 out of 5 stars Hearts full of flavor, April 6, 2009

This was a great deal on these - less than half of what grocers charge for the same brand and size. Artichokes are very tender, not salty (after rinsing), and very flavorful. I would definitely buy these again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy When On Sale, March 31, 2009

Recommend buying when Amazon has a special offer because these are very expensive. But, the product itself is great. I like the quartered ones better because they seem to put the tender pieces in there. These whole ones have a lot of parts that you can't really eat because they are the tougher outside leaves.
