Folks, Louis Jordan and the Tympani 5, the super lunatic madmen supreme, grandfathers of Soul and high priests of jazz comedy makes me thank GOD for allowing Thomas Edison to invent movies and phonograph records. Almost everytime they appeared in front of a moive camera or microphone was cause for celebration with their infectuous and zesty brand of comical jazz story-songs.

This is one of their weaker moments.

Essentailly, this is a really dull and leaden tale of Jordan's father dying and leaving him some money that a crooked lawyer and femme fatale try to bamboozle out of him. This stuff will put you to sleep! Bad acting, wooden story, weak dialogue, etc. etc. However, when Jordan and company pick up their instruments and the jazz comedy beings, LOOK OUT! That's where the fun starts!

If you get this on DVD, you will do a lot of skipping just to enjoy the songs and comedy. The rest of it, don't bother. Jordan fans will prefer his other features BEWARE and LOOK OUT SISTER (the latteer a major inspiration for the young James Brown).

The story was good, but the acting wasn't.
