I ordered 4 packs for several beanbags at home. The beans themselves are fairly good quality, but the polythene bags they come in are not. Expect to find several holes in the bags when they arrive and a subsequent mess trying to fill anything. Bottom line - very poorly packaged by manufacturer.

Know what to expect - Great for filling ONE large beanbag chair,

This review is from: 4 Refill Packs (8) Cubes Pure Bead (Kitchen)
I have bought this set of 4 refill packs of pure bead at least on 5 separate occasions already. I had got my own kids and my nieces and nephew Club Penguin "Puffle" beanbag chairs. The beanbag chairs are large enough for adults to sit comfortably in -- so they would be at least considered a medium size beanbag chair. It takes ALL 4 refill packs (i.e. one order) to fill ONE of these beanbag chairs. Do NOT assume that you can fill more than one medium size adult beanbag chair with one order. This fill (unlike others) is known as "virgin" bead fill. That means that it hasn't been recycled from something else and re-chipped into irregular shaped "beads". This is perfectly round, new bead. Not too large, slightly smaller than pea-sized. Please note that you will NOT be able to fill a beanbag chair by "pouring" each of these bags into your beanbag chair liner. Usually the liner opening is quite small, and the static cling works against gravity in general. Here is what we've been doing (this advice was given to us by a friend who happens to have beanbag chairs throughout his house instead of real furniture): BEFORE you even open a bag of these styrofoam beads: 1. Find a BLOWDRYER with a COOL setting. (If you have a warm setting only - do NOT try it! It will only result in an unsettling burning smell.) 2. Take something like a cardboard paper towel roll and cut it in half so it's only about 7 inches long. It works even better with a wider cardboard roll like a PRINGLES container, cut a bit shorter than normal. Or thick cardboard rolled into a tube of approx. 3" in diameter. 3. Make sure you have a roll of PACKING TAPE on hand. And, if you have some around, "Static Guard" spray would be helpful (yes, the kind that keeps your skirt sticking to your slip.) 4. I'd recommend you have a buddy give you a hand. (If nothing else, he or she can help clean up the millions of styrofoam beads in your house if you totally botch the job). 5. Cut a hole in the BOTTOM CORNER of your first bag of styrofoam beads just large enough to accommodate one end of your cardboard roll. Put one end of the roll JUST into the hole and use packing tape to seal all edges around. (Don't be cheap with the packing tape as one slightly untaped edge will result in foam beads blowing all over the place.) 6. Tape the other end of the cardboard paper towel roll to the "sock" part of your beanbag chair liner -- or whatever opening your beanbag liner has. Make sure the liner is laying flat inside your beanbag chair cover. (You will NOT be able to fit the "innards" inside the cover later on -- you must start with the liner INSIDE the cover and fill it like that.) 7. Cut a hole in the TOP CORNER (opposite from your bottom corner) of the first bag of styrofoam beads just large enough to accommodate one end of your COOL blowdryer. 8. Spray Static Guard into the top of the package of beads, if you happen to have some on hand. (Not absolutely necessary) 9. Tape the blowdryer to the opening of the package of beads. Make sure it is completely sealed. 10. Your "buddy" should stay the beanbag end of the cardboard roll to hold it straight and make sure the beads are "flowing" into the liner. 11. You will be holding the package of beads and using the blowdryer to push the beads into the liner through the paper towel roll. Make sure the beads don't get stuck in the roll -- your buddy can help you with this. As long as there is air flowing into the fabric liner, the beads should be flowing as well. 12. When the first package of beads is empty, take the tape off and move the whole contraption to bag #2, then #3 and finally #4. 13. If you have any left over -- save them for refills. The styrofoam beads DO pack down after about a year (assuming you have people jumping into the chair from the arm of the coach on a regular basis). GENERAL RULES OF BEAD FILLING A. These beads stick to EVERYTHING. The floor, the walls, the dog -- everything. If you have made a mess of things, USE THE STATIC GUARD and spray it lightly over all the beads on the floor and they'll be so much easier to scoop up. B. And yes, sucking up too many styrofoam beads with your vacuum cleaner WILL clog your central vac system. A few won't hurt, but don't think you can suck up an entire package off the floor without some serious repercussions. For what it's worth, this works for us. Good luck!

This was a real find -- something to help when those darned bean bag chairs start shrinking. If you look around, replacement beads are very pricey. This was a good buy. It's not easy to get them in the bean bag but I don't think any product would be. I made a funnel out of the bag and that seemed to work well.

We have 3 bean bags that we needed to refill. After refilling all 3 we have more than enough left over for another round of filling. The beads hold up as well as the original filling.

NICE BEANS, VOLUME NOT WHAT EXPECTED,

The beans are a very nice quality. I'm disappointed in the volume, however. Other reviews raved about the large quantity of beans. One reviewer said she filled 3 bean bag chairs with her 4-pack and had left-overs. I made 3 child-size bean bag chairs and barely filled 2. I went to order another 4-pack and was surprised to see the price increased $16! The volume listed by the manufacturer is misleading - 48 x 48 x 144 inches - not even close. The mailing bag I received was about 4 ft tall and perhaps 20-24" diameter. I will probably buy more of the same beans, but only because I already made the bean bag chair liners and covers. I'm disapointed.

I previously purchased 3 used bean bags at the local second hand store. Being used all of them were low on the beads inside. Since I had three bean bags to fill, I ordered this item since it had 4 bags. I figured it would be exactly the correct amount I wanted for them. I read the previous reviews about using Anti Static spray when refilling bags. I sprayed inside each bean bag and in each of the refill bead bags. That was a great tip by the way and it worked awesome. I had my kids hold the bean bags while I poured in the beads. We had a little bit of cleanup but not as bad as I expected. One bean bag was just a normal size and the other two are like banana chair styles. I don't know the brand names since the tags had been cut off. I put 1 1/2 bags of beans in the banana size bags and one in the regular bean bag. Some comments stated that the packaging/ups delivery conditions were very poor. In my experience the packaging and UPS handling was great. The box was complete with no damage and the 4 bags of beans were intacked. All four bags where double bagged together. Our bean bags are now very comfortable and we are very happy with this purchase. I would recommend ordering these if you need to refill your bean bags.

The beads were just what we needed to make heat retention cookers. There insulation properties is just what we needed to hold the heat in bean bag type cookers.

These bags of little balls were to trouble at all- they were well packaged and arrived as expected. They were wrapped in several layers of plastic bags sufficient to contain any balls that strayed out of the innermost bagging. There are enough little balls to fill 2 small home-made bean bag chairs, or one giant one.
