Dry firing is a key tool for any shooter who wants to improve his skills and acquire a zen-like effortless approach to shooting. The exercises in this book are a good way to approach dry firing in a proactive way, rather than the 'shoot the talking heads on TV' kind of lazy deal which only serves the purpose to bother your spouse. Set up shop in the basement, and practice every day for as much as you feel and your skills will improve if you are disciplined and careful.

Recommend also YouTube as a source of excellent material on masters like Steve Anderson, Brian Enos, David Olhasso, Ben Stoeger. Learn from the best, repeat ad nauseam and then repeat some more.

Warning: dry fire with an empty firearm!!!! Check your gun 3 times, you are the only person responsible for your negligent discharges!

I attended one of the best shooting schools the military had to offer several years ago and thought I knew how to practice and prepare for competition shooting. Well I was wrong! I knew the advantages of dry firing because I was trained to include it "when I could" but it was not a principal that was set in stone. I begin applying the drills in this book within days of receiving it in the mail. I witnessed a difference in my speed, and acquiring a faster sight picture. In addition, I'm able to see clearly my short comings, call where the shoot will go and quickly make corrections to my failings. What I find amazing is I have not fired one shot at the range and the improvement is impressive to say the least. I plan on incorporating the drills in this book for both competition and combat shooting! Dry firing is one the least discussed topics for shooters in the military because to be honest we are not taught how to progress our pistol shooting in the correct way, nor scrutinize for better performance. The military believes simply putting more rounds downrange is the answer which of course is wrong. This book, in my opinion debunks this theory and puts more emphasis on quality shooting and practice versus simply shooting for the hell of it. Highly recommend this to anyone who takes shooting to higher levels.

I received this book about a week before the next local USPSA match. After training about 1 hour a day I went from roughly 5th overall in production consistently to winning the entire division as B class!(A class and Master class shooters present).

After only a weeks time I was getting faster draws, better sight pictures and had no issues calling shots. This is something I'll be sticking with consistently this season.

I can't think of a better testimony for this product. The things that are key here are the structure, and how it continually pushes you to improve. It takes the guess work and randomness out of dry firing at your tv/light switches and puts it into a tangible program where it's easy to see your results.

I'd highly recommend it.

I bought this book to get dry fire drills. Dry-firing allows you to master gaining a sight picture through repetitions. These repetitions would cost a ton of money in ammo if you did them at the range, because who can just dry fire at the range. My shooting has absolutely improved.

As a recreational competitive shooter, my only opportunity to practice was when I shot a match. With the stress I placed on myself to perform well, I wasn't getting any better. I bought this book and within my first practice session I saw my times begin to tumble. By breaking down drawing, acquiring sight picture, and trigger press into a few manageable parts without all the stress of the world around me, I was able to see enormous improvements in my speed.
If you are a good shooter who wants to advance to a higher level of performance, you need this book or one like it. Dry fire practice is an invaluable tool to better your firearm skills.
Practice safe! Good luck!

I think that this may be the "go to" book for drills for pistol craft. I found it while searching for 3 Gun training methodologies, again, and again, and again. Did I mention I kept coming across this in 3 Gun circles? :-) If you enjoy shooting pistols, or want to compete? Then you need this book. Even if you think you're already a good, or great shot.

Received Refinement And Repetition in the mail a few days ago. The format is straight forward and easy to understand. The instructions provide you with all nessesary information you will need. Basically, if you practice like the Grand Masters, put in the hours of training, don't cheat yourself, this book should turn each one of us into quality shooters. Having just received this book, "Only Time Will Tell." I attended 3 local competitions and decided, the only way I'm going to get any good is with practice (No Brainer). I'm extremely excited to have this learning aid, and I am sure it will help me improve. Wish me luck!

Update November 21, 2014 - I'm 5 months into training. I've used several of the drills contained within the manual! I went from the bottom of the list, finishing 4th from the bottom, to placing 4th at a local IDPA Match. I have shot into the mid 80 percentile which is an "A" shooter in USPSA - in a few stages! Folks, the book is simple to follow. .If you are DISCIPLINED you will succeed and increase your skill level...Every regular attending shooter who has watched me shoot from day one, says how incredibly skilled I have gotten within a few months of training! key word - Discipline. Good Luck!
