Excellent Reference,
By "guillenr" (San Antonio de los Altos, Miranda Venezuela) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Refinery Process Modeling (Hardcover)
It's one of the best technical books I have ever bought. It's very easy to read, gives very good advice and covers the whole subjet. I also like that the author does not try to sell any process simulator. I hate it when an author tries to sell products with his/her books. This one is very good, because you're helped regardless of the process simulator you prefer.I recommend buying this book very much.

Must Read for all Chemical Engineers,
By
This review is from: Refinery Process Modeling (Hardcover)
This is one kind of a book rarely made for chemical engineers who lost their way in simulation studies. The book uncovers the secrets of refinery unit operations with simple and clear presentation. All the sample problems are also must read to practise as they explain the fundamantal differences between sequencial simulation solvers such as Pro II and back and forth solvers like Hysys. The approach for construction of the simulation study for the same refinery process unit is given both in PRO II and Hysis. This book can easily compliment as "Basis of Design" in laying out the building blocks for most refinery process simulation studies. Experienced engineers can also find many tricks for their work. This book is highly recommended for all chemical engineers who can easily absorb the wealth of experience the author has translated here.

Exceptional reference book,
This review is from: Refinery Process Modeling (Paperback)
The set of Kaes's two books are exceptional references for process engineering aspects of petroleum refining technologies. The books cover the steps that are usually missing between a description of what the process does (in a qualitative sense) and how to actually perform quantitative mass & energy balances.I have started to make use of the material in a senior-level chemical engineering course that I teach & highly recommend it to the students.

Review of "Refinery Process Modeling",

This review is from: Refinery Process Modeling (Hardcover)
Mr. Kaes provides a wealth of information in his book "Refinery Process Modeling". I've been involved in this work for a long time, but was still able to pick up a few "tricks of the trade" while reading.Everybody that's involved in this work should have a copy. The best $39 I believe I've ever spent.

Excellent Refinery Process Modeling Textbook,
By Stephen (Orange County, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Refinery Process Modeling (Hardcover)
This is an excellent textbook for engineers involved in refinery process modeling and simulation. Gerald Kaes clearly explains all aspects of the refinery process simulation. I highly recommend this textbook since there is none like it. I also highly recommend all the six illustrative problems that show all the deatails of simulating the most important and critical processes in the refinery.
