As a frequent Amazon shopper I enjoy reading reviews. Those before mine inspired me to take another chance and buy this book. I seem to be a metaphysical book junky. But this book was the greatest book I've bought in years. It contains so much wisdom that one, two or three readings will not be enough. I was finally at a stage where I could "accept" the messages it contains and it has transformed my long held attitudes and beliefs. For that I am very grateful to the author! Thank you for sharing such wisdom via Bartholomew! Wonderful! Love IS the answer.....

The subtitle of this book is "Awakening from the Dream" and thats what this book is about. This is a book about experiencing God and is packed with exercises toward that end. This book also has a very comprehensive description of "conscious creation". We must first be conscious before we can create consciously otherwise we create unconsciously. Bartholomew speaks of the importance of using our conscious focus for creating things that last beyond this lifetime (awareness not a cadillac).

"Many of you have not yet reached that "now-or-never" moment. You are still hoping that the next love affair or the next job or the next something is going to bring you happiness. My friends, be careful. When you keep looking for the next ego gratification, you are also saying, "Next lifetime."

Like "I Come As A Brother" this book is very much in line with Advaita Vedanta teachings like those of Ramana Maharshi and Nisargadatta Maharaj.

Wonderful words of wisdom and love.Don't expect any other affirmation for this book, Just Read it.

I will probably never stop reading my 'Bart' books,I seem to find something new each time I pick one up, such commonsense, such truth, you can't turn away from it.

We live an dream. That dream is so real, we perceive it mostly as the only thing that matters. But even dreams have to come from a dreamer and the circumstances which create the possibilities for such realistic reveries.

Bartholomew offers insights into the workings of that reality in simple and accessible terms.

'Life is but a dream' has never been truer, especially when you find out how you can direct and influence that dream, your life.

Highly recommendable for anyone who is willing to shed old notions and prepared to think beyond certain confines.

I've been transformed through 30 years in a 12-step program, and I've read hundreds of spiritual books and cherished many of them. This book, given to me as a gift from a sponsee, has been special -- the transformation continues after being stuck for quite some time. The power of the words is such that I can actually see what Bartholomew is saying (the sphere within, dropping down into self, the mind's eye. . .) and the visuals stick with me, and the thought changes. And I remember moment by moment that I am awake and I know who I am. Not only is "Reflections" full of wisdom and light, there are beautiful "exercises," which I do when I come upon them in the book. I'm on my second read-through now and will probably be reading it for the rest of my life. This and Robert Holden's "Happiness Project" CD set have truly been life-changing for me, as has my precious path with the 12 steps. If you are interested in deepening your spiritual awareness, I think you should read this book and see what happens.

This book is packed with insights and techniques for bringing about the experience of our expanded, enlightened Self. It is written with deep love and compassion; the words nurture and nourish the Self. A true companion book!

From now on I will be skeptical of books with nothing but glowing 5 star reviews. I'm a metaphysical book junkie too, and I'm particularly drawn to channeled material. Seth, Abraham, Rasha, some Sanaya Roman books are either downright brilliant or they were written in a way that just totally resonated with me (lending credence to the possibility they are truly channeled). Reflections of an Elder Brother is the mental meanderings of an average woman who has read a lot, being passed off as channeled information from basically God. Here's an excerpt from Bartholomew:
"As you explode into your unfolding life, you bump into each other. It may see like a very light bump, but in fact, a lot of energy flows from one person to another. The delight of that movement is when you dance together. The pain of it is when you bruise each other. But don't worry-it's nothing very long-lasting. Take two apirins and call God in the morning."
Here's another:
"If you have decided that life will be meaningful only at the end of it (example: Did I do it right? Will I make it into heaven?), the journey itself is going to be miserable. You will feel that you don't know how to live, that you don't know where your life is going, and that your only hope will be that someday, at the end of your life, you will be in the right place and you will be happy. Someday! Please question the wisdom of living your entire life for a happy ending that may or may not occur."
If that appeals to you then you will enjoy Bartholomew's explanation of how Hitler was able to create his evil empire and how you can avoid such negative creation! Man, I was worried!
