A deep, personal journey, August 3, 2004
This review is from: Reflections (Audio CD)
I'm from Flint, MI, so this album will mean more to me, and to others from Flint, than those not from that fabled land. Gibbs' brilliant piano playing and compositions on this album will invoke all the emotions of the music for which it was used, the powerful Michael Moore film "Bowling for Columbine." When I first got a hold of this album, I listened to it for days and days, always finding a new emotional space everytime I heard it.
I'm a big George Winston fan, and Jeff's artistry and piano style will feel right at home for any Winston fan.
Luckily, as I write this, I am pleased to be someone who has just recently met and befriended Jeff personally (we both live in New York City) and I've found him in person to be as introspective, humorous, and personal as his work.
More compositions from him, such as the soundtrack to "Fahrenheit 9/11" are welcomed.
