This book was amazing!!! I laughed, I cried, I hurt and I was happy...It truly made me realize that I have had such a good life and was extremely sheltered. I try to count my blessings every day, but reading this has opened my eyes....How can someone with such hardships have such a positive outlook on life? Thank God for being in our lives and for giving us the will to go on with life'! I so hope this author will consider writing another book....I anxiously await the day :o)

This book was GREAT. I haven't laughed so much from reading since I was a kid. When he would reflect on something from his younger years I would laugh at what happened to him. Then it would remind me of something similar that happened from my youth and I would start laughing again. It makes you think "how did I manage to live through my younger years. Then it goes into the pleasures and struggles of the later years The book brings back memories of times which is speical to each person yet everyone has experenced some of the same things.I reminisced about things I haven't thought about in years. We seldom stop to remember, reflect and enjoy our lifes, even the rough times. This book let me do that.

As I read this, the parallels to my own childhood and travels to adulthood were like old memories. There was laughter and sadness to the point of tears at times. Now in my mid 60's like Dan, his story of love; found, lost and found again in its current state of acceptance is an opportunity to try and take life as life is. No more and no less! It is not what we want at times, but it is what it is. And there are no do over's in life. We must keep trucking along! Peace to all!
