Book Description

March 2001
Thoughts and memories of our family are the cornerstone of who we are, what we aspire to become and what we hold true in our lives. One looks to scrapbooks and journals in order to relive these moments. This is a special diary tailored to suit the needs of parents who adopt children rather than giving birth, and yet allows them to express their hopes, dreams, fears and aspirations that are common to all parents. What an exciting moment in one's life -- when a family grows by the beautiful addition of a child. The preparations that are made for the child's arrival, the first time you laid eyes on the precious child that will call you 'Mum' or 'Dad', and a world of other 'firsts' that will be coming your way will be celebrated in this keepsake diary. Parents will reflect on their childhood, transcribe the events of the present, and look to the promise of the future while building an incredible and loving life with their new son or daughter. This beautifully illustrated keepsake is perfect for adoptive parents everywhere!

2.0 out of 5 stars An adoptive parents reflection of love, June 13, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Reflections of Love : An Adoptive Parent's Keepsake Journal (Hardcover)
This journal is not at all what I expected. There are pages with questions at the top of each. You fill in the answers to each question. It is more of a "getting to know your adoptive parents" guide for your adopted child. I could have easily wrote a summary of my childhood in a much cheaper journal and gotten the same results.

3.0 out of 5 stars Ok, Agree With Other Reviewer, December 3, 2002

I was looking at adoption journals as a gift and I too preferred the Waiting for You. Waiting for You has is something you can see truly being an heirloom - nice thick pages and gender neutral. This is a perfectly fine book, but it's worth the extra money for Waiting for You. Go for it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Exactly What It Promises, Nice Product, October 20, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Reflections of Love : An Adoptive Parent's Keepsake Journal (Hardcover)
This journal provides opportunities for reflection with the flexibity to suit your own adopting scenerio. The cover photo is what kept me from using this book for my own use since I wanted a book that could celebrate my transracial adoption. I ended up being very happy with Waiting for You: An Heirloom Adoption Journal for My Future Child. I got it as a gift from my adoption agency. It has places for photos and writing and has a smooth finish that I just love. Journaling really helped me feel more patient towards a process that made me feel very powerless! Good Luck and God Bless!
