I must make a disclaimer up front. The author of this book is my brother but as he would tell you himself, I have never been one to hold back criticism just because of our sibling relationship.

I found these poems to be an easy read yet left me thinking about a deeper meaner whether it was a personal statement or perhaps a political statement.

R McManes Poets Mirror is a treasure. I have read some of these poems over and over. He is very quotable, he makes you ponder. He is very readable, and earthy I would compare his writing to the paintings of Norman Rockwell. An honest look at the present and the past.

This book of poems shares with the reader a poet's view of the world. Not idealized or darkened, but clearly and succinctly delivered to us. No bows to tie up the loose ends, just verbs prompting us to understanding.

Well written, and a book of poems that will read from cover to cover. Clear poetic views of the world from the land of Kansas, by one of its own.
