I found the down-to-earth and practical reflections in Monsignor Richard Soseman s book, Reflections from Rome: Practical Meditations on Faith & Family, to be both entertaining and enriching. Our faith does and must touch every aspect of our lives and this book provides a wonderful insight into just how intimate life and faith can be. Taking a series of common encounters and experiences, Monsignor Soseman places them in a faith and prayer context so that we can all learn how to see, more clearly, God s hand in our own daily encounters. --Robert F. Vasa, Bishop of Santa Rosa
Like Venerable Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen, for whose Cause of Beatification and Canonization he has labored, Monsignor Richard Soseman has sought to use modern means of communication in the service of the new evangelization. In these reflections, originally written as web logs, he draws on his experiences as a priest both in rural Illinois and in Rome to convey the truths of the Catholic faith in an accessible and appealing manner. May those who read the present collection of reflections be inspired and encouraged in the daily living of the Catholic faith. --Raymond Cardinal Burke
Visiting Rome many times over the years, mostly for church business, I have come to appreciate the flood of meditations and thoughts that surface from walking the streets of the eternal city and touring its religious and secular monuments. Monsignor Richard Soseman captures this phenomenon in a number of reflections that blend the deepest religious stirrings of the heart with personal experience and silent reflection that can serve to feed your own journey towards God by way of the paths of holy men and women who have smoothed the pavement for us. --Bishop Joseph N. Perry, Archdiocese of Chicago
