What do you see when you look in the mirror?, December 20, 2008
This review is from: Reflections (Paperback)
Is the person you are closest to a reflection of you? Or are you avoiding them and you all together?
Tianna, Darrell and Tracy are all best friends running from their own reflection. With baggage from her childhood, Tianna goes through the same hurt and pain every year because she refuses to realize the person that she has become and to accept her life for what it is.
Darrell is in a no-win situation with his girlfriend of the past three years. He knows that it's time to go, but he keeps trying to see if things will change. When they don't change, does Darrell face what he has always known, or does he run and just ignores it all?
Tracy has her own world that no one knows exists. She's definitely not looking in the mirror at her reflection since she's afraid of what will stare back at her. When all of their lives come crashing down, they all have to reflect on who they really are, what has gotten them to that point, and then accept it and move on.
Reflections was a quick and easy read by Vermel Kinmon. The characters were down to earth and kind of believable. There were some twists and turns that you didn't see coming, which made the story a bit more interesting. I think Ms. Kinmon has a wonderful talent. The story was pretty short but to the point. After reading Reflections, I certainly look forward to reading anything else that the author puts out in the future.
