5.0 out of 5 stars Inspiring Art, January 28, 2012
This review is from: Reflections of the Weaver's World: The Gloria F. Ross Collection of Contemporary Navajo Weaving (Paperback)
This book documents the collection of Navajo weavings at the Denver Art Museum. The first few pages explain how the collection came to be; the next section is a brief but informative history of weaving in Navajo culture, with full-color photos of some of the early blankets and rugs.

The main part of the book is about the Gloria F. Ross Collection, with photos of beautiful serapes and blankets. Following that are two-page spreads of individual Navajo weavers, with a biography on the left and a full-page color photo of one of their weavings on the right. A total of 38 artists are included. A glossary is included.

This book, like the collection itself, was put together with insight, respect, and love: a beautiful example of how a book can bring to life a tactile art.
