Couldn't put it down~, June 8, 2011
This review is from: Reflections through the window (70 x 7 series) (Mass Market Paperback)
Just recently my fiancée has been incarcerated for drug charges. He chose wrong friends, wrong choices, wrong places, and wrong times. The day he was to leave to go to "Teen Challenge" rehab the police arrested him. He has had a struggle most of his life. We came from completely different backgrounds, education, families, and Christian values. When I meet him he had been out of prison and was a positive, happy, hardworking Christian who was upbeat and helpful to everyone. As the book explains he didn't have the right help and fooled himself to be around the wrong friends and family.
Even though is downfall has greatly impacted me (with charges on me when I have never been in trouble, nor ever been involved with drugs) and has greatly strained my family; this overwhelming feeling of God having a bigger purpose for our life's. Our new born daughter (whom he has only been able to see and hold 3 times and now is 3 months old)and my seven year old who calls him Dad! Though everyday seems to bring a different struggle for me out here, while he is in there facing almost two hundred years, (Not even a violent offender) only drug related as an addict. We ALL have seen God's hand at work. He was reading this book and told me to read it. It gave me a great insight of prison, the cycle and the great works God can do for people. It also gave a great account for how addicts feel and think. I am not much of a reader, actually have problems reading a lot, however the book drew me in. I found myself reading at my down time instead of being on the computer or watching TV. I couldn't put it down. It gave me a restoration of my faith knowing that God is in control and that if we allow him to do his will in us the impossible is POSSIBLE! Although things seem to be a long road with a hard fight a head, I know that if I (WE) leave it in God's hands; things will be MORE than ok! Thanks to the author for sharing and giving back! God Bless!
