Thanks from "Ferrell".

The blankets are paper thin and I have no idea if they keep you warm in an emergency.

The blanket is extremely lightweight and can be folded down to about the size of a pack of cigarettes. It can be carried in a backpack, in a car or boat - almost anywhere. I carry it in my backpack and take it on camping trips where I might need it. The blanket is made of a silvery material which is highly reflective - it would be visible from a considerable distance which is highly desirable in an emergency situation. The price was quite low, lower than expected. It is so inexpensive that it would make sense to buy several - one for the car, one for your backpack, etc.

This is the perfect emergency blanket for your car or survival kit. It is extremely light and reflective. This thing will keep you warm in any emergency or situation.

For the couple of bucks you will end up spending on this item, this blanket could save your life.

This product is great for emergencies - very small, light weight and great to take on outdoor activities for an emergency or to have in the car. It's very light weight (much like a mylar balloon). And while it can tear somewhat easily, it's made mostly for emergency use, not frequent use. It reflects body heat and can be really important for survival. Is a great addition during cold weather camping - lay over top of sleeping bag as an extra layer of insulation.

As far as buying these on Amazon, keep your eyes out for frequent price changes - prices can vary by a great deal, both from seller to seller and even from week to week from the same seller, often by quite a lot. I've paid anywhere from $4 to $10 for a 4 pk., sometimes with free shipping, sometimes not.

Big Fly sends them quickly, sometimes with free shipping. However, in trying to get information from them prior to ordering, responses have been only so-so. Also, on occasion, I did not receive the brand name that was listed on the description page (I received emergency blankets that were OK but the brands vary a lot and aren't always what's listed).

I gave this only 3 stars not because of the product itself but because of customer service, not always receiving the exact product/brand name, and the wide variation in price.

In summary, good product, can be a life saver, especially for the money, but keep an eye out for price variations and fluctuations.

I have an older cat who moves a little slower in the winter. I looked at heated pet beds, but I worried about something going wrong while my cat was sleeping. I bought this instead. I put a piece of this under his blanket in his favorite bed. It reflects his own body heat back to him. He stays warmer and is very happy. Me and my baby Zorro both love this product. It works and it's worry free. I'm going to get the sleeping bag made out of this stuff for my emergency kit. You never know when there will be a power shortage.

These blankets really work. They are thin and seem rediculous at first.

They are used in hospitals in surgery at least post op. there was a time I had to have surgery in the pelvis area 3 yrs in a row. After the first one I was colder than I have ever been in my life. I almost never got warmed up. It was worse than the pain.
the second yr, I asked please is there any way you can keep me from getting so cold, I can't stand it. Oh, yeah!! After surgery when i woke up I had a thin "blanket" silver on one side blue on the other and I felt so warm and cozy.
What is this?!!! That's a space blanket they said. Later I learned it was from NASA technology thus the name. I kept that for yrs after the surg and the next yrs one too. Let my cats lay on them and they eventually ripped up.
You cannot believe how warm they keep you and you don't need the sun, just your body. I'm here to stock up for me and my cats.

This "blanket" is a life Saver! I live in Wisconsin where we cannot hover in our homes waiting for warm weather to come. Life goes on and we have to travel in below zero and inclement weather. I keep at least two in each vehicle just in case.
A friend bought what she thought would be her home... a motor bus touted as the most beautiful home you'll ever own! The owner lives in Florida and neglected to mention that there was no heat! So she's living in winter without heat while they wrangle. These have been a godsend!! She puts them between her blankets and so far has existed quite well considering!

This is another item I purchased recently for a winter project. I made a shelter for a stray cat on our farm and lined it with the emergency/survival blanket to reflect the cat's body heat back to him or her, we're not sure which. The blanket worked out perfectly. It was cut and glued to the interior walls, floor, and top; and so far has been a cozy home for the little cat. Thanks from "Ferrell".
