I own the following to compare the GYO tent to:
1) Homebox XL
2) Original Hydrohut 4x4 w/ white interior before the off-gassing issues

Having something to compare this GYO tent to I can safely say this one wins hands down. It is drastically cheaper, has the silver-like interior and a 90 degree angled 6" exhaust outlet. It's pole structure is closely related to the Homebox. It is mostly poles that slip into three-way plastic corner pieces. The middle poles contain three-way metal slip on connections. Overall it is much sturdier than the Homebox. The Homebox sways every time I zip it up or down. The Hydrohut is the most sturdy of the three because the poles lock together and are thicker metal, but if your tent floor gets wet (flooded basement) they will rust together. The GYO is better suited if you ever need to disassemble and move quickly. The GYO "tent" also fits a lot easier. I was able to assemble the 4x8 tent alone with little to no problems. They other two 4x4 tents require a helping hand to wrap the tent over the frame. The GYO tent's don't have as many exhaust entrances and exits compared to newer models like the "Dark Room" ,but for the price difference you can buy as many 4-8" exhaust connectors as you may require. The zipper is close to the Homebox. The Hydrohut has larger, stronger zippers but it is not worth the price difference IMO :)

I've had the 4x4' tent for some time now and it's worked well, but there are a few problems with this larger one. The most obvious is that there aren't enough ports. They are 6" which is great, but they're all at one end and this is really inconvenient with an 8' tent. Also, and more dramatically, the crossbeams for hanging lights and such are incredibly weak. The 4x4 tent has bars that are flattened and bent at the ends to create hooks that have so far been solid supports but this larger tent has plastic end-caps as hooks and they've all broken. Under the weight of one air-cooled 600watt HPS, they dropped my light on my plants seriously damaging two of them at a rather inopportune moment, which makes the tent pretty useless.

This tent has very cheap zippers and did not come with all of the right pieces needed to set up the tent. It came with 2 extra pieces of one kind of pole and was short 2 pieces of another kind of pole. Because of this I had to duct tape the tent frame together in a couple of spots.

Overall very nice tent for the money. Nice heavy material. The zipper for the door is upside down. It really should zip down from the top, but zips up from the bottom. This makes it harder to use overall. Might be why they are cheap. I would buy more of these at this price though.

Easily accessible (ignore the complaints about the zipper unless you don't know how to use one), had no problem with the shipping, and set-up was a breeze; they even sent a few extra parts by mistake, so now I have back-ups. Despite not using this for any actual growing yet, I used it to dry and cure a harvest, and combined with a carbon filter exhaust fan, this tent is highly smell-proof. Overall a great buy, and I will continue to use it over and over.

So after reading all the reviews I decided to take a chance and grab this 4 by 8 tent. I decided to go with next day shipping I am doing a prime trial so it only cost me like 3 or 4 dollars that was a big plus. Tent arrived today and this is where the fun begins. They have some instruction book that has all of these different pieces in it numbered like 1-7 with all these different sizes so I was like wtf the only poles I got are numbers 1-3 and to bags of these plastic inserts to connect the poles. Threw out the instructions. It was rather easy to put together after I got my dimensions right. Not bad for the money there is no door so you have to unzip it crazy wide to get in. there is a pole going right down the middle where the zipper is. My other tent has a door on one side and a zipper like this on the other. All the duct vent holes are on one side in the corner not to sure why they didn't just put them in the middle or on both sides but then again this tent was super cheap so yeah.. They have these poles for support im not to sure how much weight they support so I just doubled up on them tied my hood to all 4 poles. Other then that it looks like a good tent for the money, depending on how it holds up will let me know if I will buy it again. Oh I like that they have a extra floor thing so if you spill you are protected.
