Review
An interesting book that is easy to read and also includes important medical descriptions of reflux. Bound to be very helpful for parents, their family, and friends. --L. Smith - Orlando, Florida

I really got comfort from the book. We are a military family and so my support system is 3000 miles away. The book was like curling up with a hot cup of tea and my mom, it felt that reassuring. I thought "Ok, i will finally get that validation that i am not crazy and more importantly that my child is not a bad kid." --Heather G. - mother of child with reflux

I wholeheartedly recommend this wonderful book to parents of children dealing with reflux --Marcella Bothwell, MD, University of Missouri

Product Description
Over 20 million adults suffer from acid reflux in the US, but reflux in children is not a high priority but it should be. Why?

Because acid reflux affects more than half of all the new-born children in the U.S. each year. That's upward of 4 million children and their families that are greatly affected by this serious illness. And unfortunately a significant number of those children may not outgrow the effects of the disease for many years, if at all.

There are a lot of ins and outs of dealing with the emotionally and physically draining times that can accompany caring for a child with a chronic illness such as acid reflux. Acid Reflux in Infants and Children can help guide you through them. (This book is a retitled edition of Making Life Better for a Child with Acid Reflux). Why should you believe us? First, this book is written by parents of a child who suffers from severe acid reflux. Second, several medical professionals who deal with reflux and chronic illness on a daily basis have written chapters included in the book. There are some of the top professionals in their fields.

Caregivers of a child with acid reflux are often desperate for credible information that may provide relief to their child, and their family. This information is credible, the authors guarantee it.

Here are just a few of the benefits you'll get from this step-by-step book: Learn why you need to research, and how best to do it; Read current information about medications and their dosages; Use handy checklists and forms to make sure you get done what needs to be done; Discover no-cost / low-hassle methods to get answers to your reflux questions; Find how to determine if you might be heading for trouble; Learn specific methods to build a superior support system; Use 8 step-by-step tools that specifically outlining how to help improve the quality of life for you and your child; Find out how to stay up-to-date with the latest treatment and diagnosis changes; Determine if and when your batteries need recharging; The book has a complete index to help you find answers quickly; Learn what pitfalls might be out there for you.

Here are a few of the topics that are covered: Breaking news related to acid reflux; Knowing that the baby isn't bad, the pain is; How to work with the medical profession; Getting an understanding how hard this might be; The importance of successful researching; Food allergies and reflux; Nutritional issues; Staying healthy; The use of medications in treating reflux; And taking care of the chronically ill.

This book is written not only for caregivers of a child with reflux, but also for medical practitioners who frequently treat infants and children with reflux and want to be current on some of the latest information about the illness.

So, are you still thinking about just guessing at what to do for your child? Why? Improve the quality of life for your child, and for you with this new book

4.0 out of 5 stars Well worth the read, August 1, 2008
Having a child born with reflux and all the Dr drama that comes along with it is so very frustrating. It was nice to read and relate, knowing that I am not crazy and alone.. that they are other people who are going through this too.

Some helpful notes in the book for sure.
