Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal

The John Knox International Reformed Center of Geneva sponsored this worldwide directory of Reformed, Presbyterian, Congregational, and similar denominations associated with Calvinism. Bauswein was the center's director, and Vischer is professor emeritus at the Evangelical Reformed Theological Faculty in Bern. After a brief historical overview of the Reformed tradition, the directory describes 746 churches and 529 theology schools in countries ranging from Albania to Zimbabwe, including statistics, theological positions (e.g., infant baptism, women clergy), and contact information. Oganizations included range in size from fringe groups with a few dozen members to national churches with membership in the millions. The depth of the directory's coverage makes it most appropriate for collections providing in-depth coverage of the Reformed/Calvinist tradition.?Richard S. Watts, San Bernardino Cty. Lib., CA
