I bought two, and placed them both in the freezer for a few days. Both display the same temperature, and both match the temperature reading from a digital thermometer I have, so they seem to be accurate.
Would have preferred them to be US made, but evidently that's asking for a lot in certain products now.
Will update this if there is any new info. So far, however, they seem like a good buy.
The Rubbermaid one wins hands down bec of the unusual and crummy hook and stand on the Daymark. The Daymark hook is designed to only hang on bars running in one direction, but it is too narrow to hang on mine running in that direction. The Rubbermaid easily hangs on the bars running in both directions. Likewise the Daymark stand is so narrow it falls through the bars, so it won't stand. Again, no such problem w/ the Rubbermaid.
Both show identical temperatures in the freezer. Save you money and just get the Rubbermaid.
My unit provided acceptable overall performance as measured by accuracy to within 2 degrees F but has some design limitations which make the unit inconvenient to mount or position prominently in many refrigerators or freezers not having wire shelf racks.
All refrigerators should ideally be engineered with integral and accurate thermometers-one for the freezer and one for the frig. Unfortunately, unless you spend considerable $, you often have to "pimp" your appliance out by purchasing thermometers to insure your unit is maintaining safe freezing/refrigeration. I purchased this Rubbermaid "Commercial" FGR80DC thermometer along with a DayMark, IT115410 thermometer each with similar $5 price points, and then compared temperature readings of both units to one of the benchmark standard liquid scientific thermometers (The H-B instruments 5/2210 Durac organic liquid-in-glass total immersion thermometer) recommended by another reviewer colleague (Gene P. Louie) to provide a standard for comparing the performance of each.
My findings revealed a 2 degree F variation (on the higher end) compared to the H-B standard for this Rubbermaid FGR80DC and a 1.5 degree F variation on the high end compared to the H-B standard for the Day Mark IT115410 Thermometer.

Works like crap, says the fridge is over 40 and above the red yet my water pitcher keeps icing up. I've basically given up using it to try and regulate my fridge temp. Read morePublished 10 days ago by Surly Hobbit
