This is the product you need to control your beer's brewing temperature in either a standard freezer or refrigerator. It's easy to install and it does the job. It cuts the power off to the fridge when it reaches the desired temp (+-3 degrees F).

This is a must have device for any serious Cheesemaker or Home Brewer.
Any fridge even at its lowest setting will cool to about 40 degrees. This is too cold for yeast in beer and for ripening cheeses.

This thermostat installs in minutes and keeps the internal temperatures between 50 and 55 degrees. No need to modify the refrigerators controls. My cheese loves it!

Product works great. I drilled a hole in the side of my deep chest freezer
Ran the coppor thermostat through it sealed the hole, plugged the unit into
the wall then plugged the freezer into the outlet on the back of the converter plug.
Set the temp you want and you done, easy. Just make sure you don't drill through any
radiators or refrigerant lines when drilling.

Bought this to test converting a small chest freezer to a frig for my cabin. It arrived so fast I hadn't bought the freezer yet. Set up was easy and painless. Been running it for a few weeks and it seems to be keeping the temp within a couple degrees of the set temp ( I think it has a spread in the temp to keep it from cycling on and off). Would buy again.

This is being used to convert a 7 cu in. chest freezer into a cheese cave. I need the temperature to stay between 50-55F. This unit has a 3.5 differential set by JC to keep your cpmpressor from burning out, and so far, it does just that. It works really well and for the price, its the best thing out there. The coil is kinda fragile, so just be careful and it does take some time (a day or two) for the temp to stabilize. Would recommend.

I've been using this for about a year to keep the temperature of a compact refrigerator at 55 deg. F for aging homemade cheeses . Works great. I'm about to order a second one for another fridge.

I bought this to use with a mini fridge who likes to make cheese. She bought a mini fridge for her cheese, which gets pretty stinky, so she had to move it out of her wine fridge. Anyway, the fridge was too cold at the warmest setting, so we bought this external thermostat for the mini fridge. I drilled a small hole in the side for the temperature probe. It cycles the fridge on and off. This unit seems to be an industrial thermostat - the probe is heavy duty, the connector for it is very strong, and the thermostat unit is metal and sturdy. Highly recommended if you have a cheese fridge!

Couldn't be easier to operate: plug the fridge into the back of the plug, throw the probe in the fridge, set the dial to the right temperature and watch it work. I bought a wireless indoor/outdoor thermometer and put the "outdoor" probe in my converted deep-freeze turned cheese cave. I have the dial set to 55 and the thermometer will read from 55F to 58F (though it usually sits around 57F).

Seller was as good as you'd hope. ie, item was as expected, shipped fast, and in good packaging.

One side note if you're like me and converting an old deep-freeze. Mine had an icebox at the top (the frosty kind like the freezer in a dorm fridge). Because it never gets below freezing in there now it drips a lot of liquid water off the cooling element. I put a large tupperware over the entire top shelf to collect the water which is fine for making cheese, but watch out for converting this type of freezer if you're planning on aging steaks/roasts as the humidity will be too high (mine reads at around 85%).
