Book Description

This piece of philosophy will guide you through every step of the way in dismantling the notion of the external world. It will effectively reveal and dispel any wrong-thinking surrounding this idea upon which all else stands. The purpose? To unburden you from all notions of ‘self’, allowing you to directly discover the raw, non-dual truth of Being.

This isn't the first work that tackles this subject. But others have left it at “we can’t really know whether there’s anything beyond our experience”, while I go all the way and say that we can know – and in this book I’ll show you exactly how and why this idea of an objective, physical universe of time and space beyond our perceptions is nothing but a figment of our imagination.

But it’s a book unlike all others on the contemporary non-dual awakening scene. You won’t find any ‘pointers’ in it. What you’ll find is stone cold logic hacking away at the very foundation of existence itself. And in its wake; when the dust finally settles; you’ll recognize that, not only were the words of the sages true all along, but they've gone from being a remote possibility to being the light and guiding principle of your life. What words?

"Consciousness is all."

5.0 out of 5 stars Some powerful ideas inside September 18, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
It's a pretty good book, although very short. The first 2 chapters are really just preparation for the main body of the text - the 3rd and 4th chapters.

The ideas expressed here are somewhat new and expressed in an original way. Like most folks in this scene, I've read plenty of books on enlightenment and liberation, but some of the views shared here stroke me as fresh and quite innovative.

If read carefully (and at least a few times), the insight can dawn that really there is no possibility of existing such a thing as an external world - the structure for it to exist simply is not there.

5.0 out of 5 stars My cup of tea. September 21, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
It is a long-stated spiritual cliché that the truth cannot be put into words, and is aptly reflected in the Tao Te Ching quote ‘the way is ever nameless’.

The problem with such pieces of wisdom for the average seeker is that they aren’t very helpful. The statements may be correct, but there isn’t a lot people can do with them that will provide practical value to their own growth.

The basic premise of this book is that we are hardwired to accept our conceptualisations of the world as objective. We look outwards and in one moment we take everything in our physical environment for granted ie.colour, shape, space, as if they actually hold a separate reality to us. In short, we give reality to our conceptualisations, and accept that reality usually without question. In the context of the quote above, we give everything a name, and we accept those names as real things.

This book attempts to undermine and ultimately dismantle our constant conceptualising of the external world. With a clarity and precision that is very rare, the arguments used are at the very least compelling, probably confounding, and possibly devastating.

I am reminded of an old zen story about a westerner going to a Monk and requesting to be told the truth of enlightenment. The Monk poured the enquirer tea, but poured the tea until it spilled onto the floor. It was stated by the Monk that the enquirer was not in a position to hear the truth, as his cup was full and spilling over. He was obviously first required to empty his (figurative) cup.

This book is actually not really about the truth, rather it is focussed on a method of emptying ‘the cup’, so truth may arise in its own time.

5.0 out of 5 stars The "must have" Non-Dual book! September 21, 2014
By JB
Format:Kindle Edition
I actually paid $30 dollars for this book when it first came out, and I don't regret it for an instant. This is the best book I have read in years. I have spent the last 10 years reading books on the Enlightenment/non-duality subject, and I have only ever encountered a book like this once before (Greg Goode's "The Direct Path"). Goran's book does away with all concepts and the non-sense that gets us trapped in spiritual seeking. It goes straight to the heart of what is really going on, what is True.

Very simply, this is a book for a person who is looking to wake up to the state of Enlightenment as fast as possible. This is the book for a person who is ready to be done.

I am incredibly grateful to Goran for writing this book! I recommended it wholeheartedly when it cost $30, it is a steal at its current price.

I've been searching for a long time, even not knowing myself that I was searching. I always had the feeling that something wasn't right here. When I was young I thought the answer was in science, but I soon found that even in science a lot of assumptions are made and worst of all, consciousness is not really studied because it is an intimate experience that cannot be scientifically - that is objectively - looked at. For a while I was desperate, ignoring spirituality, thinking it would just be more bogus. Crystal balls and card reading. Then I discovered that actually science HAD confirmed some physical effects on the brain from meditation. That got me interested, and I soon found myself meditating and reading about buddhism, listening to Alan Watts and the likes. Still, it was all a bit elusive and vague to me. It felt more like entertainment. I read about enlightenment and got to thinking about reality, connectedness, non-duality. I listened to hours and hours of Buddha at the Gaspump interviews, Francis Lucille, Rupert Spira, and Mooji (Youtube). That slowly got me somewhere, but still I could not see what they were actually pointing at.

That is exactly what this book made clear to me. Now, in retrospect, I actually understand what all those people were referring to, what they were trying to say. This book breaks down all of our assumptions, and confronts us with not a reality as we think it is or how we were taught it is, but a reality that is actually there, the one that we can very easily observe but have simply learned to ignore or look at differently. That at the same time can make it hard sometimes to see that simple undeniable reality of things.

5.0 out of 5 stars The soul-assassin posing as a house pet September 21, 2014
By DLL
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book is the most concrete and easily verifiable tool for undoing wrong-thinking and sharpening focus towards the core aspects of reality and truth. The text is based on no-nonsense and irrefutable logic and requires nothing but serious thought and an openness and suspension of habitual beliefs. The book holds the master key that deconstructs consensus reality. It is also brilliant because it does not feel "personal" until the whole house of cards collapses, but then it is too late and you will never see your self the same way...
