We had the old version of the Diaper Champ. I wanted to get another, but they discontinued it. The Dekor seemed like a good idea at the the time for our second child.

The refills seemed like a good deal.

The package arrived...I thought I'd received a new pair of shoes...
It is tiny.
Neonatal diapers fill it up in a day or two. When it is 1/2 full, the odor stopping flap jams down.
It is so low that if you are carrying your child, you can't drop the diaper in. By the way, neonatal and size 1 diapers only drop through without a manual push if they are overflowing with stool and pee.
It is flimsy
My 21 mo old son opened the latch by himself the other day. I think the odor attracted him to it. I'm glad I got to him before he found the cutting blade. It IS very sharp!
By the way, a full bag of diapers is impossible to twist and cut without lifting the whole unit off the floor.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS. POORLY DESIGNED, POORLY BUILT, TINY, DOES NOT COME CLOSE TO ITS CLAIMS.

I want my money back, on principle.

Why can't they make something the size of a kitchen trash can, that takes the 13 gallon bags I have all over the house and doesn't feel like it is made of the plastic I recycled at the cafeteria last week.

This product is easy to use and traps the diaper odor. The only time I can smell the diapers is right after I put one into the container. With the way it works, I can get rid of the dirty diapers as often as I like without a big hassle. I love that the bags are biodegradable. I chose to use Nature Babycare diapers and wipes so everything is compost-able.

I also liked the fact that unlike the Diaper Genie, the Diaper Dekor can be used for things other than diapers. That way, when I no longer need to dispose of diapers, I can still use the Diaper Dekor for trash or kitty litter. It is nice to have one baby item that won't need to be disposed of or stored once the baby no longer needs it.

We have 9-month old twins and have both the dekor and dekor plus. Don't waste your time with this model - it is very short and having to bend while holding baby to put diaper in pail is awkward. The dekor "plus" model is much more comfortable to use, and biodegradable liner refills are available for it.

This is actually my first diaper trash can, so I don't really have anything to compare it to, but I love it! You don't have to use your hands at all (except when changing the bag out). It really keeps the smell in with the double lids. I really like that feature alot! It holds alot of diapers, and it doesn't take up alot of space. Changing the bags out are really simple too, and it comes with its own bag cutter on the door so you don't have to go looking for scissors! If you have other small children, it also comes with a child lock so they can't get in.

I wanted to love this diaper pail. Things started out fine. But wihtin the first year the inner bag cutting tool broke off - we now leave it loose in the bottom of the pail. Then, our daughter dropped a bottle of lotion on the lid (from the changing table) and the lid broke into three pieces. It wouldn't work until we super glued it all back together - very ugly looking. And THEN, the latch on the bottom door (the area where you remove the bags) shattered into several small pieces - one of which my dayghter grabbed. It no longer stays shut. It might just be we got one from a bad batch of brittle plastic. But our normal wear and tear has caused this plastic to shatter in multiple locations.
When I wrote to diaper dekor - it turns out they only warranty for 6 months. Yeah, because our kids will be toilet trained by then right?
We're off to buy a new diaper pail - not diaper dekor - this weekend.
I will say, that until the bottom door latch broke, the pail contained the stink very very well.

We've been using the diaper dekor system for almost 2 years now. It has been a really good system for us. When I was nursing my daughter I could go for 2-3 days and then empty the can. Once she started eating solids, it did not contain the smell as well for dirty diapers. We still use it for all of our wet diapers, and still take it out every 2-3 days. I didn't get the Plus size because I couldn't imagine piling that many diapers in my kid's room without taking it out for a week. After talking with other moms there does not seem to by any system that can contain really smelly smells that well. So we just have resolved to take our really smelly diapers directly to the trash once a day. No big deal to me. I think you have to realize that there is no magic system that's going to keep in super strong smells for days at a time. This system has worked great for us. We love the lock, and all of the moving parts still work great. It's easy to wipe down, and I like that I can use as much of the bag as I want and not waste a whole bag. It is difficult to find the bags for the small size, but I just order several boxes from Amazon and that usually lasts me several months. One bag will usually last at least a month, usually longer.

It is too small to the degree I had to change its bag everyday (my baby usually has 8-10 dipers and we still use #2 which is smaller than 3,4,5). It is a big lie and so misleading that Deckor claims you can fit 15+ dippers daily.
Another big issue with this brand of Deckor, is finding its refill bag! Most stores including Target, RiteAid even Babies R Us do not carry it so I have to order it online! Worst of all, it does not eliminate oder and if my baby has dirty dipper the whole nursery gets smelly!
In conclusion I do not recommend it, if you must get a Deckor at least get the bigger/plus size at least it fits more dippers and you can find its refill eaisly.

This is our first diaper pail we've ever purchased, but we love it. Yes, it's not that large as other reviewers have said, but I like to keep things tidy in my house so we typically take out the diaper trash within 2-3 days. If you fold the dirty diaper and close the velcro flaps over the waste, it is more compact and you can stuff quite a bit of diapers into the pail. When my little one was a newborn, if we got lazy, it would easily store up to 5 days of diapers, but when she got older it went down to about 2-3 days. We used about 7-8 newborn diapers a day and now about 5-6 size 2 or 3 diapers (6 mos old) a day. It does keep the odor in without any issue - some odor will escape but it is transient. I like that fact that I can use this diaper system as a trash can in her room in the future. Also, you can use as much or as little of the liner that you want. We've bought refills for the diaper dekor, but we haven't needed to use the refills yet (almost 7 months). It's also easy to change out the diapers and you don't have to touch the diapers at all! Great and convenient for those on a budget and don't mind changing out the liners a little more often. I wouldn't want poop in my bedroom over a week anyway (let alone my baby's). It's a keeper for our family.

This fits the decor of my daughter's room just right, and its not too tall or too short. The odor of the dirty diapers escapes when you flick another dirty diaper into the recepticle but its only momentary. It could do a better job of keeping odors in, and not allow them to escape. But, that might make it more expensive. Other than that, does what we need.

I bought this for my new granddaughter. She visits my home quite often and I found the need for a diaper pail. I love this pail. It is especially good for my use as it is small and easy to keep out of the way. I really like that the bags pull down and cut off, so I don't waste an entire bag if I want to empty the Dekor between visits. It is very good at containing the smell of the diapers.
My daughter has the Diaper Genie and I don't like that as well. With the Diaper Genie you have to push the dirty diaper into the opening with your hand, which can be kind of messy if you have a really full diaper. With the Dekor you just use the foot pedal to open it and drop the diaper through the hinged lid. The Dekor bags have a built in deorderizer which is an added plus.
I would definately recomend this product to anyone with a baby. For a parent get the Dekor Plus as you will want the bigger pail. For a grandparent get the smaller version.
