I have only had my Dekor for a few weeks, but I absolutely love it! It is really easy to change the refills and it holds so much more than the diaper genie. I had a diaper genie first, and the lid broke, plus it did not twist the diapers the way it claims to. So, I gave that one to a friend for her to try it out, and I got a Dekor. I am so glad I made the switch. This one is so much easier, and no odors at all! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the price of the refills. They could handle being a little cheaper, but then again I don't have to buy them that often. A must have for any mom.

I will say that this is one of the best diaper pails on the market (Diaper Champ is a good option as well, but I chose the Dekor for it's simple design and ease of use). I was using the Diaper Genie until my son started on solids and his diaper usage volume bacame larger and a lot stinkier! Nothing I could do would rid the Genie of "old diaper" odor... even when empty. It seemed to have permiated the pail itself. Nothing I tried would deoderize it. Very disappointing. I had a friend tell me her's did the same. Anyhow, the Dekor is as simple to use as a garbage can. So far, it is 100% odor free when closed (of course, you will get a little smell that will escape ANY pail when it's opened for emptying). The refills, though somewhat pricey, are soooo easy to change and emptying it is a snap. There is a simple to use cutting mechanism on the door that you simply slide the bag over.... not a stiff knob with a plastic "blade" like the Genie. It is truly a simple process of cutting the refill and knotting it to make a new "bag". It holds a large volume of diapers too, so I only empty it about every three days. It has a simple, sleek design that is rather inconspicuous when keeping it in the family room. You will not be disappointed with this choice.

We are pretty new to changing diapers, but we have a Diaper Genie and a Diaper Dekor, one upstairs and one down. The Diaper Genie although a decent product, is diffcult to use when changing a baby. There are quite a few steps to finish your "change". Where as the Diaper Dekor is very simple and effective. It has a foot pedal that allows for easy opening and the bag is easy to change. Not the case with the Diaper Genie. Not only is it a 3-4 step process with the discarding the diaper, changing the bag is not soo simple. The DIAPER DEKOR, is by far a better product. Dont make the same mistake that we did. By two Diaper Dekors.

This diaper pail does not smell at all. The bag system is neat and compacts the diapers a little. This pail reminds me of the Fisher Price diaper pail they made 13 years ago (I don't think thay make it anymore). After 13 years I still use that Fisher Price pail in my bathroom. I think this Dekor diaper pail will still be in use as a trashcan in our home for 13 years also.

This product is wonderful. I had a diaper genie that was given to me as a hand me down and I have used it for 10 months now. My son's room began to smell like dirty diapers a couple of months ago. We have tried several remedies but to no avail. The diaper genie lost it's magic. So I switched to the Diaper Dekor and I absolutly love it. The ease of it is wonderful. No twisting and all that jazz. (And I don't have to explain how to use it like I did with the genie!!!) This is a wonderful product. I highly recommend it. I only gave it 4 stars because I just bought it a little while ago. I really like the fact that I can use this product as a regular trash can later which saves in the end.

Nothing like the diaper genie..Much better. NO Smell and easy to change the bags. I love that it has a dual purpose. Great use for the money!!!

I was told to get the diaper genie from many people but liked the looks and reviews of the diaper dekor so decided to put it on my registry. I am so glad I did. I have only had to empty it about every 6-7days and it is simple and odor free. Even when full there is no odor! I didnt need to put in a refill for 3months. the refills look pricey till you realize how long each one lasts. in comparison, its cheaper! I would recommend this to anyone!

The Diaper Dekor is the best diaper pail on the market! It's easy to operate and stays odor-free! To get rid of a dirty diaper, just step on the foot pedal and drop the diaper in the pail. Completely hands-free! You don't have to worry about twisting anything like you do with the Diaper Genie. When the pail is full, just pull out the bag, cut it loose on the door-mounted blade, and tie a knot in the top. Then, just tie a knot in the liner that remains in the pail and you're all set for the next batch of dirty diapers! The "continuous liner" concept is genius! I've been using the Diaper Dekor since my daughter's birth ... and I'm still on the same refill that came with the pail. I did, however, stock up on refills for the future by adding them to my baby registry! :-)

We've been using our Diaper Dekor for more than two years now. In all that time, the Dekor has held up wonderfully. After hearing friends complain about the two-handed requirements of Diaper Genies and the like, we went with the Dekor because the easy, one-handed operation was appealing -- just stomp on the pedal and throw in the diaper. We were also glad that the product was so well-reviewed; it turns out that those good ratings are very well deserved.

Our Dekor works so well that we keep it in the family room, where we spend most of our time (bonus: we don't have to run upstairs every time we need to change a diaper!) -- and we certainly wouldn't do that if there were an odor problem. The only time we've noticed any odor has been during the summer, when it's really hot and the contents get... ah... ripe faster, and even then it was only when the lid was open. Other than a few super-hot weeks each year, we empty the Dekor once a week and all is well.

The interior of the Dekor, where the diapers are collected, has gotten a touch stinky over the last couple years, but you don't smell it until you open the door to empty the unit. A little Lysol helps, but frankly, as long as the smell doesn't "escape" the Dekor, it's a non-issue to us -- and so far, so good!

The refills may seem more expensive than other systems, but they last FOREVER. With my first son, we used only four refills in two years.

I highly recommend the Dekor, and wouldn't even consider another diaper disposal system. Hope you're as happy with it as we are!

I used diaper genie with my last child it was horrid! This diaper dekor is a wondeful must have product! I would recomend it to every parent looking for a disposal system. There really are no diaper smells, it holds tons of diapers and is easy to use. Get this my husband changes the bag for me as well as using it to dispose of diapers. I mainly chose it due to the great reviews, believe them this is the best system out there. I hear the bigger one is great too, I bought this smaller model due to limited space in my house and figured it would add nicely to my bathroom once baby is out of diapers
