This review is from: Reger: Piano Trios (Audio CD)
This one is for all you devotees of the musical eqivalent of the run-on sentence. It's for you lovers of lush sonority and frenetic harmonies and unparsed phrases that begin from nothing and that go nowhere -- in other words for all you Max Reger fans: This is a fine disc nicely recorded by dedicated Reger exponent Michael Gross and his cohorts who comprise the Trio Parnassus.Reger newcomers may find these works are somewhat more accessible than the denser piano quartets and quintet, which have more voices to ramble inscrutably about. I love this stuff. This CD is a great addition to my collection. And another thing... |
