4.0 out of 5 stars A great overview of King Yellowman's career.., October 11, 2001
This review is from: Reggae Anthology: Look How Me Sexy (Audio CD)
This is a very well thought out and well chosen compilation overview of Yellowman's career. It includes his early works that rocketed him to stardom on the island ("who can make the dance ram", "ramjam master"..etc..), his middle career works (imho his strongest), and even his infamous crossover with Run D.M.C .

Longtime Yellowman fans may not be satisfied with this compilation though, since so many of the songs are so famous and played out, but it's a great place to start for any new fan looking to get a good overview of one amazing deejay's career..

I haven't really followed the career of Yellowman, as I am only 20 years old, he was making smashes primarily before I started listening, but this album alone, having not had much experience with Yellowman's music is a very good album. My favorite song is absolutely "Walking Jewelry Store", he rides the rhythm very good and the song has a lot of humor in it the lyrics. I also like "I'm Getting Married" and "I'm Getting Divorced", Yellowman kinda made a counteraction for his own record. (always staying on the cutting edge) This album alos has the classic "Nobody Move Nobody Get Hurt", which many a hip-hop artist used in their music. Overall, I think its a very very good album for an artist that is pretty underrated. He did alot of things for music all together not just inna dancehall.

4.0 out of 5 stars Truly Yellowman at his best, December 28, 2001

Even reggae fans who hate dancehall reggae (FYI-"dancehall" to reggae is what rap is to Soul music, get it?) tend to have a soft spot for the yellow one. Unlike so many of the jabbering jackasses that have come after him, Yellowman's tunes are filled with melody and jivey charm, thus his popularity is deserved. With that said, this is truly a "best of " collection. All the fun stuff is here like "Operation Radication," Them A mad Over Me," "Nobody Move Nobody Get Hurt", etc. All of this is mighty enjoyable stuff that you can sing and dance to (and smile with).
