Great compilation of songs and interesting notes on them. It celebrates Jamaica's 50th year of independence and is truly a treasure. Well worth the $40 paid. I bought three in total - 2 as Christmas gifts and the recepients were thrilled as ever.

There have been many boxed compilations of reggae music over the years - mainly from Island and Trojan - inevitably including Millie Small's "My Boy Lollipop", Desmond Dekker's timeless "007" and "Israelites" and Sly and Robbie's Taxi series. This collection - apparently complied by Mr. Edward Seaga - celebrates the 50th anniversary of Jamaican music. The sound quality is exceptional - probably the best I've heard from Jamaica and the selections tell the important story of Jamaican music in its evolution. The packaging and notes are excellent making this a good additional to any reggae library. Minor points - the absence of disc numbers for the original releases (a must for the collector) and a 5th disc with expanded/added representation from Eek-A-Mouse, Sly and Robbie, Yellowman and Toots Hibert plus the Compass Point output from Ian Dury and Grace Jones.
A great set.

and this one covers everything you might want. I gave it as a gift, but bought another for myself. It's that good.
