If you were in the mall or at a dentist's office and the proprietor of said establishment wanted to prove they were cool by having reggae holiday music, this is the CD they'd select for mass airplay. It's an awful collection of the old Christmas standards done by unremarkable small-name bands in a reggae style that almost screams parody. All the songs are safe, all the accompaniments and arrangements are exactly what you'd expect to hear if your innermost uncreative side got a perverse hair and said, "let's make some Christmas music, mon."
This CD is a sad, wasted opportunity. But if you own a business and want your customers to think you're hip around holiday time, this strictly commercial creation will set the mood for another holiday of mindless consumerism. While listening to this CD, it's best to get so stoned that you forget it's even playing, or to keep reminding yourself, "Jah love." That and a credit card will get you through this hour-long waste of time.
