I picked up this cd at the Old Settlers Music Festival a few days ago and I have been listening to it non stop since. I love it! It's a unique combination of Reggae rythms, bluegrass instrumentation, and Peter Rowan's great voice and songwriting abilities. Don't miss this one!

Ever since the first time I heard this album, I was hooked. It is one of those CDs you can put in the tray and listen to from begininng to end without skipping any songs. I highly recommend it!

Hey sings, jams and jives with anyone, anywhere. From Bill Monroe to David Grisman to Jamaican rastas- he doesn't fake it, not for a minute. I very much recommend this to any Peter Rowan fan, especially those who like to move genres like Peter does... Yahoo!jc of pt

Rowan + Reggae = Great Music,
This review is from: Reggaebilly (Audio CD)
Although such an approach might, on the face of it, strike some as irreverent or just plain hokey, Rowan pulls it off in a surprsisngly convincing manner. It helps that he's a fine simger, with a highly emotive voice and he's a natural storyteller. These factors draw the listener into the music and makes the combination of these two genres seem very natural and organic. At least, that's how it sounds to me. What a talented and (sadly) underrated artist!

i have always been a fan of Peter Rowan. this is his most amazing recording yet. who could have imagined a fusion of bluegrass and reggae? Peter could and this is, as another reviewer said one you listen to from beginning to end and don't want to miss even one little portion of any song as there are so many beautiful facets of the musicians' interacting with one another. if you are a Peter Rowan fan or a just a reggae fan add this to your collection. you will be glad to did. btw - enjoy the dub salute at the end.

Other CD's come and go from my car's 6 CD changer, but this one never leaves the stack! I can't give a higher recommendation--it always sounds fresh and new.

This is an incredible album we never seem to get tired of. If you don't like this album please don't admit it to anyone. Let's put it this way---it's not the music from this awesome compilation of great reggae twists and turns--therefore it must be you. I wish he would do another one like Regaebilly.SR |
